Maybe they need to be reminded it's been the media/social media which has called them out for their booing.

Everyone knew we were going to get a hostile reception. Hence the extra security. I fully expected them to boo all the players they did. Was anyone surprised? I certainly wasn't.

In no way am I excusing or condoning Rankine's actions (sad that everyone has to preface their opinions with similar sentences these days), however I think the greater 'learning' from this incident which hasn't really been acknowledged is the role Adelaide's defence of Rankine played in the crowd's behaviour last night.

To me, by arguing in the manner they did, Adelaide failed to see the wood for the trees. Their deflection and blaming of third parties such as Houston had the effect of blurring the lines between 'the good guys' and 'the bad guys'. It therefore wasn't a surprise to me to hear them booing IQ.

I don't doubt that if the situation was reversed there would be a certain number of Pies fans booing and that this would hold true for any club in the league. That number however would likely be influenced by the manner in which their club sought to challenge any penalty.

What is most disappointing however is the AFL's complete lack of leadership, although no-one should be surprised given their track record.

I’ve got a different philosophy. If you forgive Bruz for being a peanut (the tackle is OK even though he knew they were gone but the standing over is a bit much) because emotions are so high in these high stakes high intensity games, then you can extend the same grace to Keays. Don’t think anyone did anything too untoward.

Actually the worst act of the night was Keane on Sidey (probably because he was being pushed by Checkers all game). He is incredibly lucky Sidey has unbelievably quick reflexes and dodged his elbow to the head. He would copped weeks otherwise.

The worst act for the night was nearly coxy beheading IQ lol. Lucky his height helped in him missing.

Totally underrated post. The Crows and The AFL l completely misread the room and now we saw what occurred on Thursday…. The controversy has been drawn out. They could have just shut the chapter three weeks ago with no negotiation of the penalty, no blaming Houston, and an immediate apology from Rankine.

Ironically this has potentially worsened Rankines alleged mental health situation due to the Crows fans booing the other night. Although we really know the mental health excuse was a crock of shit in the first place.

Actually I taught my daughter well when she was growing up I told her you won't be fed unless you barrack for Collingwood
Advance some years and the same response to her children, as you can see both proud supporters and well fed

I told my kids they were allowed to barrack for any team that they wanted to. They just needed to find a non Collingwood household to live in if it wasn’t the pies.
