This is the team I would like to see, but I'm not sure if the backline balance will work. I fear Stocker may need to come in either for Tauru, or for Trav with Hill to be moved to the sub role. Stocker isn't amazing, but he's probably our best option for playing on smalls. We could really use a Quaynor type. Is Jackson Voss that type? someone that can do a good lockdown role on good small forwards?

Unfortunately, I don't think we have a spot for Steele, if he wants to stay on as depth and continue to help our youngsters develop, that's great. If he wants opportunity elsewhere, I don't think we stand in the way, wherever he wants to go for a 3rd pick. We should look after blokes that have given their all for the club.

Collard, Keeler and Dodson are the youngsters I'd also like to see get quite a few games. We'll have injuries and suspensions, so they should get opportunities.

I'd put Clark and Butler on the trade table, won't get anything substantial for them, but I think they're surplus to requirements while still being AFL level players.

Would love if Hill and Macrae get forced out of the side throughout the year by Hastie and Boxshall. But I mean forced out by their development, not the older blokes just falling off a cliff.

There will never be another St.Kilda side picked with a fit Tauru not in it..

You legitimately think we will ever flirt with the idea of leaving a fit Tauru out of the side ever again? Come on man.

You cant garuantee kids a game because they might have potential, they have to consistently perform like any other player. Lets see what a full pre season does for him and how/where he fits into the side. Kids particularly those taller players take some time to find their feet, the fact that we might have some depth to make him earn his spot in the side is a good thing.

He has unlimited potential but he is also locked and loaded in our top 23 players. Dont let the potential thing blind you to the fact that he's already there.

Would of he have been there if Howard wasn't injured, most likely not.
We had a very makeshift back line, trying out Caminiti, who performed well under the circumstances
Lost Battle, so only really had Wilkie with the experience.
I think we used him more out of necessity.
Yes, he showed glimpses of his potential
Wouldn't say that's a lock in.
With Howard, Jsos & Wilkie there next season.
Think he will have to earn a spot still.

Insane how some of our fans view football. Lucky we are never not picking him again.

I honestly can't believe a Saint fan is trying to argue with me that our generational talent that every fan in the AFL would kill for is not in our best 23. Like you read some outlandish stuff on here but man you have taken it to a whole new level. Congrats
As l said, let's take this up again next year, Cheers

That's a tall heavy backline?

Bolded my locks / ones without significant injury history

Howard, Hastie, Wood, Steele, Clark, Trav, Carroll, Henry, Hammer, Collard, Keeler, Butler, Dodson, Dow, Heath

Obviously there are injuries and we tend to overrate our own (eg I love stocks), but it does appear there is some genuine depth going into 26, providing we dont start the season with half a dozen key injures which has been par for the course lately.

Possible inclusions: Flanders, Mackenzie, Fincher, Voss
