I don't have the numbers on this myself but I'd be curious to know the percentage of players who reach 100+ games who finish their careers with a premiership versus the percentage who finish without one. And then the same stats for 200+ game players as well.

Not too hard to work out, I've got the raw data somewhere.

Well I think ours was the performance of the weekend. Don't really rate either the Hawks or Crows but think I would rather meet the Crows.
You just fear the Hoks would be up and about for a game against us. Even if we are the superior team no way would it be a blowout.

I could see the Crows beating the Hawks then crumbling to a bad loss in the PF.

I know this was from the first quarter, but he should never have missed this goal

Honestly bolton was ordinary tonight for what they paid for him. Frederick is an OK frontrunner but a dumb footballer with no IQ. Dudley was decent but he looks about as fit as a country 3rds footballer. They missed switkowski badly they desperately need a quality small forward and a new coach.

It wouldn't be a blow out no but we have the superior know how to beat the Hawks in a close game. Honestly either them or adelaide we should be beating

Fremantle fans haven't taken too kindly to this footage

Though it seems their fans have conveniently forgotten about Fyfe replying with the following when asked who he'd be supporting in the 18 grand final

“Everyone says that, as a West Australian you should be supporting the West Australian teams, but I can tell you that it’s not that at all,” he said.

“We’ll be going for Collingwood. Wish West Coast all the best of luck, but I think all the Fremantle supporters will be on Collingwood.”

Lions missing Neale and Hipwood, but they still have an exceptional midfield and a lot of experience. I think they’ll beat bounce back next week against GC. H&A form counts for nothing in finals
Unpopular opinion, but I still think they're a huge chance.

Neale coming back in was a liability for them. With our high press and him clearly being underdone, we turned him back into the old Lachie Neale getting sucked up the ground.

The kick chasing stat padder who would have 40 possessions and not hurt you, rather than the champion at the bottom of packs getting it out to the receivers that he's become over the last half decade.

To top it all off, it demoted Levi to the wing and out of the centre, where Dempsey made him look like a fool.

If they get through Gold Coast, they're a huge chance against Collingwood IMO. The Suns game will be tougher than the Pies game if it plays out that way for them.

Like us, their strengths are the Pies weaknesses.

I am about to become a captain for the first time this summer, and the team I likely will have will have two typically arrogant and obnoxious Hawk fans in it.

I want them out.
They knock us out and I'll need to change club.

They must lose next weekend.

I think we're probably playing a grand final this year. In my view, I don't see Adelaide or Hawthorn getting past us in a Prelim at the G.

We've played the G six times this season. The only one we lost was v Carlton in that strange outlier.

Our footy the other night was scintillating. Pies were decent too but against pathetic opposition who hardly opposed them. Next week will be a slog in Adelaide.

We're simply in the box seat.

Maybe but I think they're only at the start of their window, not the end.

Thee age profile of their best/most talented players players is very good:

Brayshaw - 25
Serong - 24
Young - 24
Clark - 24
Jackson - 23
Treacy - 23
Amiss - 22
Reid - 19

It's only really Luke Ryan among their big names players who is closer to the end than the start of his career. They've got time to get things right.

And they still have their first round pick if they want to top up further

I honestly thought GWS & Freo would win this weekend, but credit to the Hawks & GCS for pulling off those upsets. It would be kind of cool to meet the Hawks in the prelims and beat them. Seeing their supporters' meltdown over that would be special. But I think Adelaide will reset and come out firing in the semi-final against them.

Rowell is seriously reminding me of a young Paddy Dangerfield with how he's playing. Very impressive. I laughed at the crossovers to Dimma in the coaches' box during that period in the last quarter where Freo was coming back. He looked so despondent and resigned to losing the game. Lucky for him, his lads managed to get the job done.

I know this was from the first quarter, but he should never have missed this goal

Guessing Jason Dunstall threw his remote at his TV when he saw that.

As captain, they don't HAVE to be in the team

Frederick was running straight into goals, could have taken a bounce or touched the ball to the ground to get even closer if he really wanted - zero reason for the kick option he took as a simply drop punt would have done the job

Reminded me a bit of Mannagh's miss in the prelim last year where he could have gone the drop punt but went the low kick option instead that was straight to the Brisbane defender

It was much higher then I intuitively thought, Data from 1897 to 2024.

Interesting number for me is that so far there were 54 players who won a premiership and played less than 25 AFL/VFL games.

There was a defender running into the goal square
Needed the little 9 iron chip over the defenders
You don't see that kick much anymore
