I've started to look out for Flanders due to all the talk on this board about him - I'm not seeing it - what's so good about him? Just looks like a neat flanker to me. Handy but not exciting.

What about Howe at 34yo and the same issues. Muscle fibres defiantly strengthen when torn. It's the scaring that strengthens them. Maybe try and convince my doctor because I've experienced it and have been treated for it for years from a doctor. I've no issue with not getting Treloar but you're not on the money here I'm afraid. Once again, it's the same reason we extended Howe, otherwise he wouldn't be offered another contract

You are conflating two individuals with zero knowledge of either. Your personal experience is irrelevant.

Saying scarring strengthens soft tissue is nonsense. Muscle fibres(think strands) can heal in all sorts of weird ways.

That could explain why I only played 77 of a possible 200 odd games. I was always injured

Be careful, there are a few on here that think he is worth a first rounder, ridiculously.

Flanders is someone you get on the right terms only (early 2nd rounder and contract of max $650k).

If there is anyone at Gold Coast we should be targeting this year its Alex Davies (who we were into last year), who was great yesterday, and is pretty much a more dynamic cleaner Ned Long.

Could get him on the cheap (2nd rounder at most) and is better than Flanders (and Hardwick obviously agrees with this based on how many center bounces he attended yesterday in a big final).

I like Treloar and it's nothing personal, but didn't we get rid of him because he's kind of a spud.

We got rid of him because we could no longer afford to pay his contract under the salary cap. The club had kept going to him asking him to reduce his salary for the coming year & they kept back ending it to the point it was $1m per year and the club was outside the salary cap for 2021 because they had done the same for multiple players (not to Treloars extent)

Dangerfield has had a fair few hamstring injuries since he was Treloar's age. Doesn't stop him from playing 18 games a year at a really high standard.

Never had a double Hammy like Treloar - big difference IMO

Agree - prefer him to a Rowell in 2 years after getting over worked and smashed over that period. His best will be behind by then.

If I am GC, the last player I would let go is Bailey Humphrey, as he matures will be DeGoey Mk II, will go on ball and tear teams apart when it matters. Just like Jordy he is plying his trade forward but given time will be a midfielder as well. Would love him but no way they let him go.
