Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.

Free Agency Period: Friday, October 3rd - Friday, October 10th
Trade Period: Monday, October 6th - Wednesday, October 15th
AFL Draft: Wednesday, November 19th - Thursday, November 20th

Still bringing in Aleer to me says we want Tauru playing forward in our prime and the powers to be feel like there is alot to work with.

I can't comprehend WTF the club see in Aleer. Of all the finals games I watched since last Thursday he is by far and away the most limited defensive footballer that ran around.

HTF do they think they can turn this loping slow skeleton into an intercept star. He can't read the play and is way too slow to make up for it and remain with his opponent.

Would rather ditch Aleer and keep Windy.

Maybe we have a different role in mind for Aleer with his athletic profile?

He was ok yesterday, the least of GWS issues, just didn't impress and looks like a gangly yearling with legs splaying everywhere while being a bit unco, with little idea on positioning.

Lyon must think Aleer can excel playing a role in a process driven, system structured defence.

His athleticism fulfills his role as a cog in this defence.

If his recruitment is based on his football smarts or instinct then it doesn’t make any sense.

Believes in its finals dreams, yeah like GWS doesn't believe in their finals dreams considering they are there every year and we make it once every 5 or so.

Lets be honest here .... Windy is a B-grader foot soldier

Don't agree. He has shown he can be a lot more than that.

I think he averaged around 21 possession a game. Get to 25 on a wing and that's probably A grade. I can see him easily stepping that up with less minding duties. He had some huge games.

Last 8 games he averaged 26 touches, he was getting involved plenty, probably not quite AA quality (Bailey Smith 31, McCluggage and Daicos 27) but moving in the right direction.

We landed Hill in 2019 and crouch in 2020

That’s half a decade ago from Hill playing his first game. How is that relevant to today?

It's not accommodating anyone, it's the fact Tauru could become a star forward so getting Aleer in to fill the void of a roaming interceptor allows for that
