No it's not, because the 2A argument for lax gun control in order to 'fight government tyranny' has always been a bad faith argument from the right (a well-regulated militia, anyone?), it's only ever been about riling up the base and gaining electoral advantage, not to mention all that sweet sweet blood money from the gun manufacturers and the NRA.

They don't care when kids get shot, why should we care when it blows back on them. Yes, it's sad for his kids and family and whatnot, but that goes for all the victims of American gun culture, who certain figures on the right have ignored or outright harassed for decades now.

Their reaction to Sandy Hook means they get zero sympathy from me. I can't be bothered even pretending to care anymore.

I would say the shooter was someone who was in their military and probaby very calmy got in his car and drove down the interstate

I wonder if the motivation for this will simply be he made the comments about the kids earlier in the week being necessary collateral & someones just taken it the wrong way & thought shooting someone like Kirk might actually get the congress to take action. Something has to be done.

Trumps response to this will be interesting. He's going to have to do something big otherwise half his MAGA crew will start calling him weak. He really can't mess with gun control though cause that will also piss them off.
