If we don’t, the ‘straight sets exit’ and ‘failed in finals as minor premiers’ will be added to all the other sour vibes and I would genuinely worry about a 2018 season next year.
Nah. We are in a good position where we have shaken the finals drought off

We will have new players and teams will put more work into us

Plus our coaching group is stacked

Season is delicately poised. Before Rankine it was lots of wind and pretty good vibes all round, but our form has gone to shit for the last month and the vibes are now pretty somber and sour.

If we beat the Hawks, I think we will come into the off-season ok, with some positivity, even if we lose the prelim.

So a camp you say?

I'm not concerned about a 2018 style drop off, the core of the team are all under 25. That 2018 team was on its last legs.

Our midfield was getting badly beaten.

People complain that Nicks is to ridged and doesn't make in game changes. He makes 'said' changes and complaints are made.

He is damned if he does and damned if he doesnt. No pleasing some.

I think Nicks definitely has his flaws but he also has some good traits.
Do you think I’m referring to the midfield changes? What do you think he did wrong?

Given the tide that seems to be flowing totally against the team this September it really wouldn’t surprise me now that they’ve dropped Bond after he done a good job shutting down usual Crows-kryptonite Dylan Moore last time out against Hawthorn that we see yet another Moore have a massive finals legacy game against the Crows.

Th irony would be strong.

The large amount of intercepts was in most part a result of how badly the midfield panicked and just dump kicked it forward. They succumbed to the pressure. If they took a moment like zac taylor does (unfortunately he doesnt get enough of the pill and would have been a good option to put in the middle) and looked for loose players, they could bypass Moore and Frampton and get better looks. Nicks then doesnt need to put time into Moore and Frampton.

He has proven he cannot man up on the opposition intercept defender when they get on top. However, i think he puts to much trust in our midfield group to adjust and work around that. The team have shown they cannot do that and that is when he is subborn and doesnt make the change.

There were a few occasions where Tex or TT were a metre from Moore but the ball fell in his lap. Other occasions the delivery was over cooked i.e TT to tex. Again percieved pressure or just over excited.

So Moore breaking the record for most intercept marks had nothing to do with the coaching, no worries.

What about 9 defenders?

What about our first switch not happening until the 12th minute in the second quarter?

Has anyone else found the Adelaide board less active than they would have anticipated a week ago?
This thread, or in general?

In here, I think posters are resigned to one change only, Rachele IN.
Nicks has no imagination or flair for daring changes.

So pathetic and gutless Nicks.... "im not a fan of booing"

After all the clubs been through, we just need to completely thumb our nose to the VFL and its cretinous cheerleaders.

Look at Chris Scott... He gives absolutely 2 F***S and calls it out.

Stop being nice, embrace being hated and get angry.

lol Murphy an emergency

Why does this shit happen?

Knew this as soon as I saw Murphy be second highest disposal for the Crows in the SANFL semifinal. Nicks is so ****ing predictable.

We need the list management team to do their job and not offer Murphy a contract for next year.

So the switching is on the coach. He told all his players to not play the way they have been playing all year and for this final, lets just go down the line. The players succumbed to the pressure and did lower their eyes looking for appropriate options (switches). They panicked, it happens with inexperienced finals teams.

That is why Nicks said they didnt play to their system. Not hard.

Playing 9 defenders was completely on Nick and coach, no challenging that. But it was the midfield that sh)t the bed.

Very hard to change system in game unless you are Geelong who are ahead of the curve obviously. SEN guy discussed Scott's coaching around the use of a tagger. He had Oisen playing defense for 6 games straight, then tagging for a few game and then defense to get an understanding of how to play defense so when he tags and is dragged forward he is capable. He had Humphries playing wing to allow for Oisen to move to the back line. They had smith play a wing to allow Dangerfield to play in the guts.

This is were Nicks and coaching team fail miserably. Might make the decision to play edwards back more understandable but not for the whole season.
