Being reported in some circles in Melbourne that Carlton is interested in doing a swap of Eli Hollands for Lachie Sholl

I would be more than happy for us to do it, I think Elijah is the more talented, better player but our club culture (as it stands) is not strong enough to deal with Eli and his off field issues. And that's a shame because he proved to be a decent gut running midfielder who could run on and kick goals

I realise Sholl is probably no world beater but a proven AFL level player and more useful to us than late 3rd or 4th round pick we would get in normal circumstances.

I wanted us to keep Eli, but clearly Graham Wright disagrees.

I want desperately for Eli to clean his act up and flourish at AFL level, i firmly believe he could do it at The Crows.

The kid has issues but he has a highly significant ceiling

If not Sholl, a token late pick is fine, I genuinely think Hollands could be a very successful reclamation player for The Crows, much like Tyson Stengle at Geelong

If you were able to turn him around, not only would you get an A Grade talent for cheap, it would speak volumes for your club culture and environment and make it more attractive to potential recruits and stars from other clubs.

I would be asking for Hollands + a 3rd for Sholl.

Although I'm sure we would be interested given how quickly we pushed Stengle out the door.

It would be the right thing for Butts to leave, for all parties.

He's AFL quality so deserves to be playing regularly, not parked in the reserves as injury back up.

We can't be paying Best 22 money for a reserves player. That's a luxury. Sure, it's nice to have but there is a cost felt elsewhere eg midfield.

Trade now whilst contracted then we'll get something decent. I can't imagine FA compo would be anything special if we wait a year.

A FA KPD may well attract overs, or at least same as what we get in A trade this year so while he it’s important to our depth chart I’d only trade him if it’s a good return that improves us next year.

Also those saying we cant be paying best 22 rates for a reserves player, I agree but he’s already contracted next year so that’s a 2027 problem, not a reason to have to trade him this year

Seems there's several clubs sniffing around Sam who is yet put pen to paper at the Hawks, sure to be plenty of interest in this young midfielder/Forward the longer he goes unsigned. Saw a lot of Sam locally for the GWV Rebels where he shone as both a mid and a forward with his exceptional...

Arguably Butts is currently a best 22 player at Adelaide replacing N Murray. He’s a better lockdown KPD and arguably provides more freedom for Keane and Worrell to intercept - particularly as they wouldn’t have to worry about Murray crashing into them and/or spoiling them.
