He looks like a powerful runner with both endurance and speed. Strong frame. Neat disposal. A lot to like.

I guess the uncertainty for us at the moment is not knowing what our draft hand will look like.

He's only played the 2 games on ball of late so it's hard to gauge exactly where he's placed. Athletically he's a weapon though, big and powerful kid with speed too.

Have you seen much of Charlie McKinnon and Jack Picket? 1st and 3rd on the goal kicking tally for the CTL yet haven’t heard either spoken about, I think McKinnon is a awkward size like Morris but i know nothing of Picket who averages more goals than Dovaston but gets no mention.

McKinnon is an awkward size but doesn't have the contested marking of Morris. Plays a bit like Tom Hawkins but obviously a far lesser sized man.

Pickett I haven't seen enough of unfortunately, been on holidays a bit too much this back end of the season when he's really started to shine from all reports.

Very impressive. Clean composed and aggressive. Probably says a bit about the draft though, that someone can bolt up the boards with lesser exposure so late in the piece.

I subscribe to the idea that unless there’s something specific about a player to hold them back like size or lack of pace, then they will be able to continue to develop.

I look back to Shannahan last year and remember he kicked goals wherever he went but for some reason there was no love.

I'd agree with this, but Shanahan was a genuine head scratcher. He had every tool you'd want in a KPD and still slid for some reason.

I am finding it hard to comprehend the rankings some media groups are sprouting.

Sure it can be argued Dean is an elite talent, but with other needs and priorities of clubs and more often than not a reluctance to force the hand of clubs with Father son or academy players, he should be around the 10-12 mark off “history”.
Most clubs do not set out to damage their oppo’s unnecessarily. This is why Duursma and CDT are touted top two when Annable and Uwland not to forget Patterson are at least as prominent. Sharp continues to be undersold in “Phantoms” and it would have been unthinkable for Lindsay to slip from the top half dozen through the season. Then there is the key forward market which almost always has teams “reaching”.

Ison gets mentioned from 15 to 50 and is much more likely to be at the bottom end of that range. He has elevated a little, but with his greater production, he has had reduced efficiency. A good prospect, but not obviously ahead of a range of players in the 20+ range. Has been impressive enough for us to be excited, but not commanding enough to compel oppo to play games.

Agree, IMO Dean will be pick 12 - 17. closer to 17 taking into account early NGA picks

There's absolutely a chance. He's shown serious talent the last 6-7 weeks of the season at CTL and was dominating school footy before it.

Unfortunately he had no pre season and a late start to the year so most will consider his early form indicative of the prospect at hand.

I'd have him sneaking into the 20 now if I were picking. Upside is enormous.

Whoever signed off on Ison playing the last few games of CTL should be shown the door ASAP.

Plays like Cripps, just without the same ability to quickly plant his feet a release a really clever handball (at least, not yet).

in every other aspect of play he is well in advance of Patrick at the same age... think he's just shot himself into top 10 calculations and will wind up at Essendon or Hawthorn, but I'd take him first up otherwise.
