Surely not?the circa 500k he was on?
Arent they supposed to be keen? Elite key forwards and players in general, especially contracted ones generally take a fair bit of getting. Carlton hold all the pieces, if he goes it's a big trade we do very well out of and I can't help but feel that we will be pretty serious about making a trade. But only if we win pretty big out of it.That was a hell of a lot of typing to suggest that Gold Coast will give up 2561 points this year in a trade for Curnow.
Why?
everRegarding Motlop. I come from the school of "hard arse" but what has he done in the last 2 years to justify the circa 500k he was on? Motlop should see the offer in front of him is reasonable and should be motivated to prove himself. Our contract offers are testing the character of our players for the first time in 30 years and will leave us a list of players who prioritise performance and premierships
Considering the 32 and 34 virtually cancel each other outThat was a hell of a lot of typing to suggest that Gold Coast will give up 2561 points this year in a trade for Curnow.

And there was plenty of players moving in the 2022 trade period that would have helped us possibly go further.2023 was our chance at a premiership, in form at the right time of year and on a roll. Maybe if we could have added a couple of players in 24, such as Haynes and Evans, we might have had a better chance that year. '23 is the one that got away for mine.

Haven’t you cottoned on yetA bit of that.

Except for Jagga Smith, who was pick 3 last year but probably would be pick 1 in this year's draft, and someone named Cody Walker who could pick pick 1 in next year's draft. And a 20yo midfielder named Cooper Lord who happened to get a rising star nomination this year. Our midfield is pretty ordinary and there isn't anything coming through which will change it into a modern midfield.
I see Smith playing a more outside role and Walker will be in 2027 and also playing a more outside role. Lord is another slower inside midfield, same thing as Cripps and Hewett, he doesn't add balance to the midfield, he's just another quality player of that type. So in terms of adding pace and agility to the onball group, no. And Smith will spend some time in the middle but his primary position will be elsewhere, at least while his body matures.Except for Jagga Smith, who was pick 3 last year but probably would be pick 1 in this year's draft, and someone named Cody Walker who could pick pick 1 in next year's draft. But apart from them, nothing much coming through who'll change the dynamic.
Do they need points for academy player?I have no idea if they're keen or not.
But, if they are, they won't be giving up (many) 2025 points, because they actually need more points this year, and, because those points are devalued relatively.
If we trade Charlie, it will need to look like a win for us, so it will be a massive deal.
But if you're trying to come up with a crazy deal, at least put some thought into it to make it somewhat realistic.
MultipleDo they need points for academy player?
#1, #4, and #23 prospects are theirs which equates to 5615 points without discountDo they need points for academy player?

Jack Martin. Zac Tuohy. Henderson.Yep. No one - and I’m mean no one - screws Carlton eight times in a row !!
last 3 OUT vs IN

George and Cripps will both be 30yo entering the next season, Lord potentially the successor as the hard working inside mid. Similar with B.Campo. Jagga is the inside/outside, and Cody will give us plenty of run through the midfield. Not sure what sort of mix you're looking for.I see Smith playing a more outside role and Walker will be in 2027 and also playing a more outside role. Was hoping Charlie would've come out and asked to be traded by now.
At least management would then know about exactly who's leaving and have a longer pre draft assessment time.
YesSurely not?
I said earlier that Butters, if there is a chance there, we aught to go for him in a big way.George and Cripps will both be 30yo entering the next season, Lord potentially the successor as the hard working inside mid. Although I'm interested in who you think we should be bringing in this year....and please don't just say 'we need to bring in players with more pace and agility.' Who should be our realistic trade targets?
