Whilst its a very small sample (only played 4 Finals games) I would agree with your assessment.
He averages 22 odd disposals in Home & Away footy but in Finals footy he averages 31.5 disposals. He goes up another gear in Finals games. Finals footy is when it truly matters most and is the truest test for players.

Gunston averages more goals in finals than regular season too.
Some are born for the big league.
Isacc Heeney's finals record is underrated, but totally agree.
I think Heeney might have the most Gary Ayers votes in total of current players, if not maybe Neale or Dangerfield. This is totally a guess though.

There's a multipler of 1.25* for Prelims and 1.5* for the Grand Final.
Is there? If there is, it's new this year, and it doesn't say anything about it on the website.
But if there's not, there should be. Together with a multiplier for the Qualifying Finals.
They are the major finals, and the Elimination and Semi Finals are the minor finals.
Let's see if Newcombe can produce what he has been doing in minor finals, in a major final. I assume Mullin goes to him?

My bad, it's only the grand final that gets 1.5x. There should be 1.25 times for prelims, they're just as important.
Mullin will get Newcombe like he did last time. Mullin didn't have a great game on him either on Easter Monday.

Will probably play an extra player behind most stoppages if there's too many tags. And then run Watson, Butler, Moore and Weddle every now and again for chaos.

This award is so stupid... Jack ****ing MacRae won it in 2021 because the Bulldogs played an extra final than Melbourne.
Melbourne steamrolled their way to the Premiership and had about 20 players who had better finals series than him. Petracca and Oliver annihilated the Dogs midfield in the GF.

In terms of a top 10 all time (including former and current players).....who has the most votes?
Any of the stats people have any idea? The Gary Ayres Award has been in place starting since 2016 so there would be quite a bit of data to go through but it would be good to see who has the most votes of all time as in a top 10.
