Felt a bit pre-seasonish to me, and I mean that genuinely. I think I'd feel the same way if we won it.

I know it probably sounds weird, but there have been prelims that hurt more than losing that GF for me.

Maybe because we had so many more real world issues going on at the time, it helped put things in perspective a bit.
Yeah it's a funny one. It was an alternate reality. Don't get me wrong, I wanted to win but I remember being really grateful that we kept winning just because it gave me something to look forward to.

Once the granny was over I felt flat because I thought "well now what are we going to do?".

Not an intrusion at all, this game is building as game of the year. The match ups seem pretty crazy, looking forward to them.

Question though, Weddle to me seems to spend a lot of time forward. Dempsey also. Are they going to actually be matched up? Or do they just see each other at a CBA and not get within 10m of each other after that?
Weddle is playing on the wing, basically he starts on the wing and then when we sub a key tall Dear/Lewis. Weddle goes FWD and Jiath plays wing. Weddle in like 3 QTRs playing FWD should have kicked like 7 goals this finals, guys an absolute freak.

He’ll 100% match up on Dempsey as right side wingers atleast st the start and it’ll be chess as they’ll both try to get FWD, I don’t know your second winger Humphries, Miers at times but I can’t imagine Scott will allow that height difference. U also might send O”Connor to him, which will be an interesting matchup to say the least.

Huge soul searching for Adelaide. That was the limpest finals performance in my lifetime. Simply no finals footy attitude or application. Weak-willed and cowardly.

Lots of key matchups.
Who would you blokes send to Neale?
Nash v Miers has a bit of intrigue to it too I'd say..
Neale will 100% get Barrass who’s played very well this year. Our back 6 kinda has alot of change overs with the exception of the biggest FWD who Barrass gets. My only worry is when Neale rucks and you roll Danger, Cameron and Martin as your talls which leaves Barrass without an opponent, but I think it’ll be similar to your back 6 where u guys are tall but pretty versatile.

Pretty simple, we are clearly a better team than the hawks, THEY are the ones who will really "need to bring it" to try to upset a superior team, not the other way around.
Exactly. Thank god our players are young enough to not give a shit, as I do, about the horrifying prospect of adding next Friday to my list of Hawthorn trauma stories: 1987 round 22, 1988 Night GF, 1989 GF, a whole bunch of "greatest Hawk win ever" matches at KP, 2008 GF, 2013 PF ...

So take a step back, I say to myself, and stop thinking about their admirably bouyant supporters. We have this mob covered.

I think Scott will avoid that batch up because Weddle would be able to get loose in f50 too easy. I think Scott would likely send MOC. Though shark would be at an aerial disadvantage he does for into the defensive mix naturally

Only question on that though is can MOC go with Weddle, cause his running power is absolutely elite.

If anyone believes the likes of Gunston, Newcome, Weddel etc will be allowed to do what they like next week you need your heads read.

Crows we're deplorable defensively across the ground. That's not the way Geelong play.

Sure they'll get some wins in areas we are lacking, like the ruck, but I can assure you they won't get the loose checking and free reign they got from the Crows, or the Giants for that matter.

Cats by plenty.

Deep down, do we really believe this "should be a cracking/ripping/classic match" or is that performative objectivity?

I'm expecting a straightforward dispatch of a team that refuses to tackle (we eat those teams for breakfast), has a lumbering defence, whose season has gone one week too long and has Mabior Chol at full forward ffs.

We're talking about a team ranked 18th for the number of clangers opponents make against them.

Love the positivity and confidence. We would love nothing more than to have this wrapped up at 3QT.
