2025 List Management Discussion - Part 3

Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

2025 KEY DATES
Free Agency Period: Friday, October 3rd - Friday, October 10th
Trade Period: Monday, October 6th - Wednesday, October 15th
AFL Draft: Wednesday, November 19th - Thursday, November 20th

Has anyone received actual confirmation of whether we can nominate Jackson Voss as a father son selection?

I was just wondering because if so, our 3 mandatory draft picks could be Voss, Fincher and Caminiti...

No we can’t. Only eligible as father son or NGA in their “draft” year, (the first year they nominate)

He’s working into first round territory now, which obviously means he’ll cost us more.
I also read somewhere he’s now going to be invited to the national combine instead of the state combine.

I would love to ask the AFL for special permission due to our lack of father sons in the past. In all honesty, the AFL world would collectively lose their minds so I'd ask just for that reason

I have thought about this a lot.
Like Collard for Eagles, if they were super keen wouldnt you tell him to tank at combine testing? Rather than win agility?

Hide these players better? A first round freeze out might lead to some of this

Only heard it second hand so don't take it as gospel but apparently he is a bit of a challenging character if the rumours are true.

Mrs Mitchell is a piece of work. I wont devulge here, but if Mrs Battle is her great friend, they are people who you wouldn't want to associate with.

Rightly so. If Merret said he wants to leave for success and then joined St Kilda, Essendon heads would be popping off all over the place. Imagine the sound when Robbo's leaves his shoulders! Be like a bamboo gun I reckon.

I like him. Adds a bit of class that our mids can lack. Flanders feels a bit of more of the same low hurt disposal we already have.

Not saying he is as good but Dusty Martin was a prickly character, Pou is a different cat, etc. Up to the culture of the club to fit everyone in.
