Haven't beaten them since Easter Monday 2022. We are due!

No change for me. I don't think any of the other options (Ramsden, CMac, Breust) will add more to the side than what would be taken out if we remove Lewis/CJ.

Although CJ is not playing perfectly, the chaos he creates when he comes on with his running and movement plays right into our hands with our small half forwards. I'm hoping it will "click" more for him in the next game, and all of this experience will set him nicely for the pre-season and next year. There's still a player there.
Was better against Adelaide.

That goal he & Hardwick conceded was calamitous.

Keep him out of the backline.

I think our preparation for the past 2 months is a lot better than Geelong.

Our run since round 17. St.kilda, Freo, Port, Carlton, Adelaide, Collingwood, Melbourne, Brisbane, bye, GWS and Adelaide.

5 interstate trips, not including Tassie, for 3 losses and 2 wins. 6 teams that finished in the top 8 for 3 wins, 3 losses. 2 teams from the bottom 6 for 2 wins. 1 bye.

Geelong’s run since round 17. Richmond, GWS, st.Kilda, North, Port, Essendon, Sydney, Richmond, bye, Brisbane, bye. 2 interstate trips for 1 win, 1 loss. 2 teams in the top 8 for 1 win, 1 loss. 6 from the bottom 6 for 6 wins and 2 byes. They haven’t really been challenged, and have little incentive. Yes their win against Brisbane was impressive, but for the most part haven’t really been challenged, I think we have the hunger to take them out next Friday.

McKenzie in for CJ or Lewis

Lewis was horrible and CJ was equally bad.

To Cj’s defense he is coming on as to sub to create energy and impact - energy wasn’t needed on Friday. I think if Lewis was playing an above D grade game they wouldn’t have deployed the sub until late in the 4th.

Next Friday’s game is likely to be a lot more like last Saturday than yesterday; a bit of crazy energy may not be the worst thing to happen. McKenzie is not suited to sub - the only other player you’d consider as sub is Butler but after his performance yesterday there is no way they can make him
The sub.

I’d say McKenzie for Lewis; and play Weddle up forward - only if Ginnivan is 100%

If Ginnivan isn’t 100% then McKenzie for CJ

From Easter Monday this year I distinctly remember Hawks playing on at every opportunity. There were at least 4 or 5 times they played on directly into an opponent with a costly turnover. Hopefully if the message is to move the ball quickly, they give themselves half a second more time to actually hit a target.

Apart from Xander McGuire has been reported anywhere else?
I think it's just from Sam's presser.

In the interview on 7 Xander mentioned Ginni and Gunston and then Dale Thomas said he spoke to Ginni and he was all good.

Impey was just mentioned because Sam in his presser said he was a bit sore at the end.

Let's hope Ginni is ok because obviously Breust can't come in now. Not sure he would have anyway

Watching BHH, Ramsden hasn't made a great case for himself. Barely got near it.

Reeves won the ruck as he should against a guy who looked about a foot shorter

Frenchie had a bit of it but wouldn't say influential

HH was probably our best along with BMac did some solid things

I don't understand how he's not in the conversation to replace CJ

We played so inefficiently that day - I honestly don’t think we could have played worse and some how we barely lost. I’m trying not to get excited because we have exceeded my expectations for the year and if i get excited then I’ll be devastated Friday if the result doesn’t go our way. however, we are definitely a shot (even though we are still a midfielder short) - the remainder of the season is definitely a free hit of sorts - however, I have seen countless examples in my two favourite sports of teams who rose earlier than expected and just missed out on glory in that premature peak and the natural progression which everyone expected never came - so I am aware of that and obviously the club is; this team has shown over the last two years that when the opportunity is presented they’re more than good enough to meet it so let’s see!

We need Lewis for structural reasons. It allows Chol and Gunners to take their 2nd and 3rd best defenders. Plus Chol will go into the ruck to allow Meek to rest up, without Lewis Geelong will carve us up if our only foward is Gunston when Chol goes into the ruck. My concern is Ginni will he be good to play? With Breust out of contention do we need B.Mcdonald to allow Impey to swing Forward? Will Ginni be right to play as a sub if he's not 100%?
