Not confirmed but looks like Motlop getting a new deal.

Leaves McGovern, F.Young, Charleson, White and Monahan as the only un-signed ones left.

The ITK who posted about the 1+1 deal I shared here says it is the 1+1 contract and not a straight-up 2 year deal.

However, according to the same person the trigger is a mere formality based on how he was selected this year.

Who would say no?

Swans get: Curnow, Silvagni Compo
Eagles get: Warner, De Koning Compo
Blues get: Pick 1

Means we would clear our compo picks that would get eaten by a Dean bid.
So we give up Curnow and two first round picks for Pick 1? That's terrible

I'm good with this contract. I'm keen to see how Motlop and Durdin perform with a quality forwards coach and if that's the role we've envisioned for Hickmott to come into (if he does) then bring it on.

Improved structures and system will make all of our forwards function a helluva lot better than they do right now.

Carlton would say no.

1. We'd go into a massive deficit next year (if the rules don't come in immediately prohibiting a first round F/S bid match) which hurts us for Cody

2. There's no certain champion player at the top of the draft this year. I'd struggle to give that much up even if there was a Harley Reid level prospect.

3. We need to get more from Curnow.

Duursma and CDT aren't remotely impressive enough to give up that much for. No idea how we'd come close to matching Dean in that scenario either.

With 3 year futures trading now open I can see us going hard trading for established players. I wouldnt be surprised if we trade away our TDK compo pick to advance the list rather than bringing in a kid at that pick. Only picks we will keep will be for Dean and Ison points match.
Its going to be interesting to see how hard we go.
DO we wait and go hard for Butters this year/next year?
Use future picks for further established players?
Whilst keeping enough points for Cody (FS wont change we will get our way IMO)

I rate Nick Austin after his clever trading for Jagga last year and I am very keen to see how Wright and Davies influence further

He should be playing wing or HBF or whatever - but in the VFL until he can sort his kicking out.

The biggest weakness of Voss's coaching is his continuing to play guys who cannot kick at an AFL level.

It costs us any hope of finals.

Ollie is a prime offender but he's also weak physically so can't tackle or break tackles. His running strength doesn't make up for the weaknesses.
Ollie goes at 78% disposal efficiency. Let me compare it for you.

So does Dane Zorko
Dan Houston go at 80%
Nick Daicos goes at 70%
His brother goes at 75% despite 5 more uncontested possessions per game compared to hollands.
Cam Rayner goes at 64%
Jordan Dawson goes at 63%
Hugh McCluggage goes at 68%
Adam Cerra goes at 70% who is arguably our best kick.
Bailey dale goes at 81% who is probably the best kick in the afl.
