Because an interview is both ways?

You end up finding out what they will pay, how they want things to go in the role etc., and you say nahhhh i'm not interested in a group of arsheholes telling me how to do my job the whole time, while having no say over recruitment, and you'll only pay me how much?

Fair, however I'd generally do my own research before getting to the point of a formal interview and being offered the position.

There are sickos out there who will apply for jobs and go through the process just to sharpen and refresh their interview techniques. Maybe he went through the process to get familiar with presenting as a senior head coach of a club who expects to actually win games and flags.

I used to do that back in my early hospitality days(I work in IT now). Ended up applying for a job up in the snow and took it on a whim. Never went back home after that.
