Circling back to discussions from earlier today and I’m not sure about the Simpkin shade. I’m inclined to agree with Buckley that it’s bullshit, but if it’s legit and both parties are ok with him departing I’m fine with adding a 20ppg high half forward. Don’t get sucked in by the reporting of him wanting midfield time that’s just a way of agitating to get out. I’m confident that he’d be happy in any role at a successful club.

He’s had to do a lot of heavy lifting over the years alongside LDU and I think he’d benefit in a system with more experience and help. I’m not gunning for it, but at the right price I’d be one to get around it.
So what you're saying is, you're a simp for Simpkin.

So Curnow, Marshall and Worpell want to get to Geelong, FM, there needs to be a salary cap investigation surely....
It’s been fairly obvious a long way out that they’ve wanted each other, but short of involving Holmes or O’Sullivan they have no chance of getting it done.

King kicked 71 goals this season which was a great return but it's interesting that in doing so he only averages the 7.32 disposals per game.

As a comparison.....

Thilthorpe 60 goals 13.72 dpg
Morris 51 goals 9.29 dpg
Curnow 32 goals 11.78 dpg
Mihocek 36 goals 9.71 dpg
Wright 28 goals 11.84 dpg
Treacy 44 goals 11.50 dpg
Cameron 85 goals 13.67 dpg
Hogan 46 goals 10.19 dpg
Gunston 70 goals 12.45 dpg
Fritsch 36 goals 12.55 dpg
Larkey 41 goals 9.71 dpg
Georgiades 58 goals 12.09 dpg
Lynch 26 goals 10 dpg
Sharman 34 goals 11.52 dpg
McLean 25 goals 9.32 dpg
Waterman 17 goals 10.12 dpg
Naughton 60 goals 11.78 dpg

While it's silly to suggest any club should knock back a bloke capable of kicking 71 goals in a season, the fact that despite kicking all those goals he still averages less dpg than all of the names above, only highlights that while he's an excellent marking target inside f50, the rest of his game really needs work. He's one dimensional.

P.S- Another thing worth highlighting is that of the 6 games he played against this years 4 Preliminary finalists he only managed 10 goals with a 5.66 disposal average.

I’m waiting for Geelong to ask for list and salary relief. Bring all these players in requires more than farms and cow pats. The club will have venture into currency. The system must have allowance for players to absorb the magnificence of Geelong and surrounds. The concept of leaving the player list and area is just too mentally damaging. Endless list places are required.

choosing to be traded to geelong is embarrassing
go to a workaday club and lead them to glory

you could be part of GWS's first flag, or kick the winning point in StK's next flag, or show the young kangaroos how to save their club and its rich history

or you could just take the easy option, and move 35 years into the past, and talk to a sheep on your dodgy farm

pathetic

Where he went is irrelevant. All that matters is how the two clubs rate him now. 2nd rounders aren't worth much with how far they balloon out - particularly if they're from a good team like the Pies.

Having said that, if it's only a two year contract that's gets him to move like is being reported, probably not rated that highly.

F*** Geelong. C***s.

Can anyone really see Jakob Ryan making it into the team next year?

Will parker, perryman and maybe TJ are ahead of him when it comes to backup small defenders.

Not sure if he will have any suitors, but can't see a future for him at Collingwood.
I stood next to him recently, if he's small then I'm freakin miniature. He looked easy 192ish.
Can't see him making it though.

Don't think curnow to Geelong will happen. Carlton will ask for 3 first rounders or 2 firsts and a young gun.

Last year Oliver wanted to get to Geelong, but Geelong were is no position from a trade capital standpoint to facilitate any kind of deal.

It appears writing on the wall re Mihocek. Can't blame him for chasing 3 year contract. I think he has probably 1 decent year left. Happy to back 2 of West, Buller, McCarthy, Howes to develop into a solid tall forward combo in the future.

I would not have picked Fritsch to have kicked more goals than Checkers. Lynch and Curnow are close and have played half the games, still don't want to see him go.

Now that curnow has supposedly set his mind on Geelong as his first preference , it would potentially mean 1 more less competitor in any butters race, should he request to come home.

The dogs would be our only other legitimate contender.

Would be great if we can convince him to come across to us in this years trade period.

Would they be thinking McStay, Buller (Inc ruck support) and West? Membrey to keep them honest. Steene, Howes and Smit developing.
Sounds good. Really like to see Steene or Smit make a leap next year. DC isnt getting any younger but as Gawn, Goldstein etc have shown ruckman really can play into their 30s and be dominant still. I have faith Westy is going to be a bull for us. Buller and hopefully Howes as good foils. We may still have something up our sleeves too. While Fly is here id say trade a FA we'll continue to be aggressive. This year has proven it was the right call
