Just was looking at weather today compared to tomorrow night. Why couldn’t we play today lol

Gale force winds and rain tomorrow night and you know how our kicking has been,
Yippee can’t wait to see 20 points to be kicked…ugh 🤦🏽‍♀️

The weather actually looks ok now compared to a few days ago.

Very windy during the day and it’s not as bad when the game starts. The rain looks to be later on in the night.

Should be fine (Hopefully), but I’m no Jane Bunn

Rain unlikely to be a factor. Very light rain (around 1mm) possibly towards the end of the game (10pm onwards)

Wind has pulled back a bit to around 20kmph (light to moderate) and occasional gusts up around 50kmph

Not sure it will really be a major factor for either side.

Legit been checking the weather hourly this week hoping the conditions change in comparison to what was forecasted earlier on

I don't give a hoot what they say.

We'll be in the granny.

The flip side of being certain we will win is that I am very aware that a loss will no doubt be the single most devastating/disappointing experience of my Geelong-supporting career. So I'm with Munich in allowing myself to be unfilted in my expectations.

My big fear is a repeat match with Brisbane, but the anywhere anytime approach has to win.

The only way we lose this is prelim is if WE LOSE this prelim.

And see my previous posts about us winning 83% of wet weather games v Hawthorn 50%.

I meant IF we win.

But I am pretty confident.

And was a brilliant, very clever player.
I do some work for a team in a different code, and Mitchell spent time doing "work experience", observing how the coaches and high performance team function, and gotta say he was a great bloke- friendly, good sense of humour, polite, engaging, and genuinely interested in how it all worked. James Rahilly also did this, and he was very similar.
Ah well I’m interested to hear that because I’ve never really warmed to him. Can’t say I’m surprised that he’s a nice chap after all.

If you want to talk Kimmel ill post in the week off thread as to what happened.

Facts not politics.

Oh the weather front.

My friend works at the State Emergency Control centre, they had a big gathering there today. In their brief by BOM the fellow apparently said that it will start raining at 3/4 time, and that the winner will likely be whoever is infront at that point in the game.

Make of that what you will, but that to me says BOM are expecting that it will be relatively fine and then the heavens will open. The info those state control guys get is usually pretty accurate, certainly its a lot better than what us regular mugs get access to.

Nothing will ever compare to the 2008 Grand Final. I went into that game with absolute certainty we were going back to back, not a hint of doubt in my mind.

That shit ****ing broke me.

Scott didn’t give to much away in his presser re: Stanley. Said the possibility of him playing only became an option in the last couple of days and they’ll make the decision in the next hour or so

Agreed.
Worst ever.
Had an awful feeling pre game as we were pretty beaten up coming into that game. And when we saw high termperature, Wojo out, Stokes in, I was devastated and convinced it was going to be a tough day.
We had only lost 1 game that year( smashed by Pies), then that loss.

Dubs with an awful feeling before the game? Noooo I don’t believe that at all 😀😀.

Agree though, worst game ever for a Cats supporter ☹️

How many of us can actually visualise and imagine us knocking Hawks out of the finals? Never happened in my lifetime since 63. Really difficult to dsee it- not so long to wait now.
The ongoing media frenzy about the issues involving CS and Bailey Smith is pathetic.

I do have some good feelings as well though, but tbh, NEVER before any Hawks game.
I much prefer us to be underdogs. BUT WE DESERVE FAVOURITISM.

Yep. The fact that the nucleus of that Hawthorn team went on to win three flags five years later disguises just how big a shock that loss actually was.

I wasn't absolutely certain, but I was pretty confident.

What a ****ing horrific day that was. I went with a Hawk supporting mate and at the final siren he turned to me and said, "I'm really sorry mate... but this is probably the best day of my life!"

I just shook my head and wandered off. Too distraught to speak.

IF Hawks do win it this year, you'd have to think that adding Merrett will help them into another significant era of domination. Was hoping they were a year away from it this year, but time will tell. The fact they have won well in 2 interstate finals, which is never easy, I think speaks volumes about their capacity.
