Ill Be Back Jim Carrey GIF

If he’s good enough to replace Elliott then he’s good enough for a list spot regardless whether or not Elliott stays or goes.
It’s probably the most straight forward one you’ll see this off-season. He’s not currently good enough for a list spot or to replace Elliott. The fact he went and contacted clubs without consulting his management tells you everything about his attitude!

I don't even want May because I think he's culturally toxic but for the life of me I can't think of any AFL quality key defenders on the market right now that are "young."

Looking for youth for the sake of youth rather than good footballers that keep us in the window in the immediate term.
For me it’s the value proposition. You won’t find a better KPD option young or old on the market over the next few years, IMO. What you do in that scenario is bring your leaders in on it and let them drive it. I’ll sit back and go with the club, but that wasn’t a no from Gardiner hence the meme…

Gardiner didn't seem too interested was my way of taking it, otherwise you'd be putting in the call now. Not waiting until after every other club who may need a defender has.

I don’t think there’s any rush to make contact. May will only want a contender and we’ll need to bring it to the leadership group which won’t happen while our season is alive. I’m not reading anything into it other than it wasn’t a no which would have been the answer if we weren’t interested.

Why does it matter who calls first? The May camp will wait until they have all their offers and weigh them up... u dont simply decide ur future based on who makes an offer first.

Bingo. Needs to be zero distractions like that this week and hopefully next.

Butts is an ok lockdown defender.

The May situation reminds me a little of Brian Lake /Harris when he joined Hawthorn. Different ages but Brian was considered a bit of an idiot.

It doesn't matter who calls first.

But I just think if you were really interested you'd be letting them know earlier rather than later.

Hopefully we're not interested. Because I think he's an A class flog.

Not to mention not in the age bracket we should be looking at.

I have multiple other reasons.

And it's all just my opinion.

The Ray White tour hinted at it being much more than that, but I’m sure he’s happy to live out of there for now. Who’s to say though that that will be the case when Aisha is living on the farm with their new born? I’m not suggesting it’s happening only that it wouldn’t shock me in the same way it would shock you.
For what it’s worth, I heard the rumour mid season, which was told to me by my nephew who had heard it from his Physio……Jordy had visited the same Physio.

Anyway the rumour is if they win the flag this year he will retire. Apparently he has had enough of the injuries and the work he has to put into getting his body right to play.

Like everyone else, I take it with a grain of salt and didn’t really give it much thought but the fact the rumour is circulating through other sources and as you have mentioned Sco, his lifestyle and family life, does make me wander if there is some truth to it.

What will be will be and if it does end up being true, we then know that Jordy will be a 2 time Premiership player with the Pies 🏆🏆

May will be 34 in January, he's been involved in one or two punch ups with teammates, he got in the face of their revered Captain in a game this season, has a history of over stepping the mark and being suspended, while he had a crack at us during a B&F speech one year didn't he.

While he's been a very good key defender for many a year and outside talent a lot of that (and the above) can be put down to his competitive nature and natural aggression, he could also be described as a bit of a loose cannon emotionally and whether his output at aged 34 is enough to offset those personality traits is the question.

For Melbourne clearly they've decided to move on from him.

Amazingly he did average 17.69 disposals and 7.06 marks this season.

In comparison Moore 10.71 disposals and 4.57 marks.

Disappointing if true. Theres a lot of players a hell of lot worse off with injury on way less money that push through. You're a long time retired and it'll be a huge regret when hes 40 if he pulls the pin early
