Can I ask who is the better FWD between CDT and Schubert?
Most on here hate on taking CDT with 2 (which is also not my preference btw) but often have an ideal haul of us taking Schubert. Interested to hear how more thorough draft watchers compare their forward craft.

Schubert for me was the best KPF in the carnival. And I have a significant gap between Schubert and CDT.

Main reasons - Schubert reads the ball in the air coming into the Fwd 50 so much better and is a much stronger mark. Schubert present better and has good leading patterns (not quite up to Shanahan but Jobe is elite at that). CDT is very good when the ball goes to ground but is that an attribute you value highly in a KPF? I think not. CDT did take some great marks in the Coats League but more as a ruck behind the play than as a leading KPF.

Our list needs are rolled gold mids and best talent.
Sharp and Cumming are he best inside and balanced mids in the draft, make sure we can take them at 1 and 2 or we trade up with lots of other picks to make sure we get a pick that guarantees we get Duursma, Sharp and Cumming in this draft.
2 elite mids and an the best outside player in the draft.
Might need to get up as far as the RICH picks to guarantee we get them but I would rather do that than get speculative with our assets.
That might need picks Hawks 1st 15, WC 2nd 19/20, Ryan trade pick 23 to get pick 3 or 4 from RICH and get a F3rd back.
Picks 1, 2, 3 or 4?
Still leaves us with VAFL assistance pick 19, Hawks 2nd 33, Chesser trade 35, Hawks 3rd 51 to negotiate mature talent trades.

Why would Richmond do that?

Sounds like they are picking on U18 Champs form as well then.

Have to think their goal is to get as many players drafted as high as possible, hence the CDT pick, when he only played 3 games.

Feel for the guys who actually played all year and didn't go swanning off for school games / state / vfl.

1. there is already an All Australian team to reward form at the Champs;
2. it unfairly places emphasis on the Champs series that players may miss for any number of reasons; and
3. a number of the players selected for this team still shouldn't have been selected based off Champs form (and begs the question how Pickett/Ah Mu were left out of the team compared to Duff-Tytler given their collective forms over the two competitions).

Going to be an interesting trade period and draft period.
All the top players like Merrett, Curnow, Petracca etc. are going to throw picks around everywhere in the 1st round.
Maximise our draft hand with our assets/picks for our desired outcome is 2025 draft period is the biggest priority, we may never have a draft hand like it again.

I'd be more excited if we were linked to a star or 2. Only leftovers have been linked to us so far. Even Starcevich is one heavy rainstorm away from a career ending concussion.

Jake Melksham at Melbourne when May was pissed and told Melksham that it was a good thing he wasn't pick in the premiership team because if he had been they would have lost the Grand Final.... so Melksham snotted him and KO him.

Thats a pretty good indication that he isn't a good teammate.

It would be a massive pass from me, even if he was 24 years old and not 33.

I liked Ah Mu at the champs. I don't know what he has done since then as I don't follow the U18s closely.

It is a complement not a criticism. Not the traditional 196 cm plus tall forward. Effective and a big scorer and hints of Darling, Georgiades and Gunston. Term role made sense when I posted but understand it was clumsy.

nah, that makes sense, there are role players, and their are people who are the best at their role in the league, or elite top 5 whatever, darling is probably more the latter.

I wouldn't, Duursma has a lot of upside and can also play equally well across 3 lines. Can Sharp ,Cumming and Shubert do the same.
It will be interesting too see who excels in S.F. V Claremont colts G/F. A top performance from Fred could get him back in the first round.
