If he stays, I'm sure we'll suggest to him that if he performs, the door on a re-negotiation for 2027 and beyond will be open.

If his contract is front loaded, then he's already had the bulk of the money offered in his last contract. If he's blown all the money we have already paid him, that's on him. We're not a piggy back. So why should we re-negotiate with him for more money? He, and his dickhead manager, agreed to the sums involved.

Also so what if the CBA says the salary cap is going up next year. That's for new players or guys coming out of contract.

I think Charlie’s management are leaning on all their mates in the media; first Barrett (Geelong) and now Xander (Collingwood) to drum up more pressure on GC and Sydney to get more serious and flexible with putting some “off limit” player names on the table.
