How does Collingwood do that? I thought they'd gone all chips in to get Houston..?
I'm not happy with a Guy with Charlie's attitude being forced to stick around when he wants to leave
That doesn't mean I think we should give him away for unders.
Will it mean that he will be another Chol who only gives half arsed efforts depending on how he feels on the Day?
I don't know how you can extract 100% out of a Player unless they have a lot to lose.. which, in this case .. doesn't include losing his job for another 4 years.

He’s seriously down in Geelong more often than he’s in Melbourne. It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if he’s been in contact with them all year.
Spends heaps of time with Bailey as well etc.
It could if it’s Carlton’s best interests - in Curnows case telling him to FO and getting unders is only good for Charlie..Carlton first could just as easily mean **** off if you don’t want to be here
Pace & footskills in the vfl eg YoungI’m sure you would agree we lack pace and footskills, Michael.
I think the question would be, where do we find players who have both at an affordable price? Everyone in the league is after them. And there is a huge premium on them.
Chesser is the only one with whom we’ve been linked that brings the full package. But he’s affordable because he also comes with a lengthy injury history.
When the list management team looks at a player like Jiath, they know he only ticks one box. But the bigger question is, does his pace allow him to open the game in a way that might allow those with footskills on our list to use them more consistently?
If he does, then maybe he is worth the turnovers. So when you say we can’t carry another player who can’t kick, you may be right. But he brings a pace we don’t otherwise have, and perhaps that opens up the game in a way we can’t currently achieve?
It’s a question only the list management team can answer.
So what can they offer us if they actually want Charlie?
Hahaha ... love the Bold where you totally dismissed the words preceding it 'That doesn't mean' lolWho said we should give him away for nothing?
So Zac Merrett can’t have talks with Sam Mitchell either?Sam Edmund might be one of the decent ones in the media, but the way that is worded makes no sense. The only way to “begin talks” is when the player is a free agent. Charlie’s four year contract is owned by Carlton, so he can’t begin talks with another club. Only Carlton can begin talks with another club for Charlie.

We have gone past Papley. he's aged out and is starting to struggle with injuries. We should put forward McCartin as a possibly option.
Also said he couldn’t see how Geelong could trade him in along with their interest in Marshall.
No, he shouldn’t be. Especially HFC from *.So Zac Merrett can’t have talks with Sam Mitchell either?
If his been on a front ended contract I’m wanting extra in the trade nowAlso said he couldn’t see how Geelong could trade him in along with their interest in Marshall.
CC willing to a clip on the pay to make it work (reportedly, though this is subject to the front-loaded pay scale, if he’s milked the best of our contract).
Absolutely- at the end of the day we shouldn’t be giving Charlie up for undersIf his been on a front ended contract I’m wanting extra in the trade now
Like to see these players that skip out on their contracts that are front loaded have to pay back the club from what’s been outlaid over the average wage of the full contract. If his been on a front ended contract I’m wanting extra in the trade now
May to NMFC would be better. Supposedly battling an ankle injury and could return to a very solid defender.
Would like to keep finalists like Collingwood, Hawthorn from getting better .
Seems unrealistic to me that we could, win big. However, if we have an acceptable deal, that is seen by most as a fair deal for us. Then I think
G.W. will give it his tick of approval. He has been round long enough, to know that you do not want a player (no matter how talented). To be on
our list, if he is not happy to be here. Club is playing a smart game here, feel confident that a positive outcome will ensue.
Are they turning Victoria Park into a surfing park?![]()
