He had his chance when he was going to be a FA - maybe he should have given it more thought then![]()
I think the manager have a fair chunk of blame. They push to get the long contracts and tell the players tehy will be able to get a trade done if tehy want out. It seems its not as easy as that.
So lets see this year who Merrit , Petrricca , Currnow get to new destinations.
If Hawks miss n merrit do they move to Petrricca
would this have been before Neale really broke out mid season
Best chance he has is to get into Doc Brown's time machine and not sign the six-year extension he committed to in 2022.Charlie Curnow in attendance last night thinking "**** me, how can i get to Geelong".![]()
I was wondering if the Hawks had moved onto Merrett as they didn't think they could get a deal for Trac done
Thanks i missed that. Was stanley confirmed too? I imagine we wont know for a few weeks whether we are getting marshall or not.
He wants to be but we dont have the trade assets. It will be Sydney gc or Carlton for him.Curnow will not be at Geelong. Not a snowflakes chance in hell.
Marshall is possibly gettable Curnow isnt.I get the feeling that the Cats' priority is Marshall over Curnow. But Jesus, imagine if they did manage to get those two, plus Worpel, without having to give up too much, apart from picks. That would be the shizz nizz.
Signing Stanley a strange move if they’re confident on Marshall?
He deserves whatever he’s been offered.Im not sure marshall comes (stk might not release him) but if he does he will be the starting ruck and Stanley will be a backup in the 2s on cheap wages. His body is pretty old so he will be managed and given Conway is unlikely to be out there we could use the backup.
Not necessarily, as signing Marshall doesn't stop us from needing a reliable back-up ruck optionSigning Stanley a strange move if they’re confident on Marshall?
It is also a good negotiating point. If Stanley had retired or we hadn’t yet offered a contract, we would be seen as desperate for Marshall. Now we have an inform Stanley for next season no matter what. Great to be able to rest Marshall when necessary, let alone if he gets injured.Im not sure marshall comes (stk might not release him) but if he does he will be the starting ruck and Stanley will be a backup in the 2s on cheap wages. Or they're really worried about Conways ability to get healthySigning Stanley a strange move if they’re confident on Marshall?

Break glass option. Costs hardly anything and they aren’t confident in Conway at allSigning Stanley a strange move if they’re confident on Marshall?
There'll be no substitute with five on the interchange next year, which means sides will be able to play two ruckmen.Signing Stanley a strange move if they’re confident on Marshall?
