Hands up - who else said "we're f***ed" when we were down 21-1, fumbling all over the place, with Stewart and Henry injured?

Never in doubt!

This edit captures my favourite moment from last night when Baz kicked his goal, held his finger up to his mouth and just yelled "SHUT THE **** UP" to the Hawks fans hahahahaha

Danger impressed David King last night...

A year ago before the QF against Port, King said the old master would teach the All Australian Power midfielders a lesson - and he did. He was pretty damn good in the prelim too, but had no support once Holmes went down.

A year later and he is still doing it. An absolute freak.

I’m probably wrong but I thought he might have been saying it to the whole football world 😀

This. I recall a sportsman’s night I attended a few years ago where Gaz, Joel and Danger spoke very very highly of him in his early days and I just didn’t see it. Has developed into a jet though
Miers plays how I imagine Ablett Junior may have in his prime if he stayed as an outside attacking half forward rather than inside mid. He has the same aerobic capacity, smarts and skills + vision. Obviously without the contested ability, but he makes it work. Over time he's become a really prolific player who is the centrepiece of our mid-forward connection.

Q
Chol got three weeks for the tackle on Stew.
Chol held both arms + didn't try to roll Stewart, whose head hit the ground + bounced.

I know others see it differently.

Ultimately, the suspension includes the result of the injury.

As said previously, Clark was ready to play, with Stewart only a very short time in the rooms.

Why we need him is obvious. And i think he will be better with us than he has been at hawthorn.
Next year- Smith, Holmes, Atkins, Clark, Dempsey, MOC, Bowes? Bruhn- sorry, not that obvious to me, unless he is a bargain; and not sure there is that much between the teams that would see him be a better player with us. They are after Butters and/or Merrett to improve their MF squad.

That $10,000 fine for Ginnivan tripping Bowes just adds a bit more delight to our win

+ yes, I am that petty when it comes to the Hawks

Plus the Hawks’ players cracked it + were sooking 😹

OMG!!! Am I really this scarred 🤦🏻‍♀️

his third offence for tripping, he really is a little campaigner

Went on the main autopsy board for a little bit. In the words of BT, wow-wee!

To paraphrase StackedHunch, we play negative football, we had a soft run, we got all the favoured treatment from the umpires, the AFL gives us special treatment, our ground is undersized, our players are spuds etc.

If that’s the general tenor and intellect of the place, they can have it.

I'm late to the party here. Got to bed at 2 and had to watch the replay today, but do we put down our centre clearance dominance this finals series to the increased presence of one PFD? We smashed Brisbane for much of the QF and destroyed Hawthorn last night there.

Or is it the absence of Rhys and the greater flexibility of Blitz and SDK once the ball hits the deck? Or is it more CS magic?

Whatever it is, it's become such a strong part of our game this September compared to a weakness for so long, and gee we look so damaging when we win them.

As for the game, I am seriously in awe at what we did last night. The first 40min we were nowhere, while Hawthorn were on. Henry on one leg, Stewart gone, so many down on performance, it looked like it was going pear-shaped in a hurry. But step up an absolute superstar in his mid 30's, who has time and time again done it, but not at the age he is now, and once again he said, "Boys, come with me!" And did we ever respond, team wide. That burst in the third quarter that basically won us the game is the stuff that wins flags. No one can go with us when we're in that mood.

What a club. You never get sick of making them, nor do you take them for granted, because they are so hard to make, let alone win. To be averaging a GF appearance every 3 years in the AFL era is astonishing and a testament to the entire club. I can't put it into words.

It's will be our 11th GF in the past 37 years, it's now time to win our 11th premiership!

Fair call. they are in everyone's faces when they are winning and sook when they lose. Starts from the top, right back to you-know-who as president.

Mr Meow: one area that Gryan Miers has improved on in recent games is his handballing to advantage. So rather than Gryan 95% of the time angling out on his right then hooking the ball back inside play with his deadly right-foot kick which can become somewhat predictable for the opposing side and thus become too much of a one trick pony with 'no left-side or foot', he's learning to further change his angles with extremely effective handballs back inside. Great to see and thus making him more unpredictable and a even greater offensive weapon than he already is..... kid's got a superb football brain that's only getting better!
