When the game is in close , multiple stoppages, he can be ok, any speed on the game he is next to useless, his fumbles, disposal and composure are so lacking. Sick of watching it. Should never be at a centre stoppage against good fleet footed opposition

No they aren't they're bang on. He put his hand up to play after selfishly carrying on over his contract for weeks and was beyond disgraceful both finals. Did not give a yelp. People don't have to stand for that shit and clap such a lack of effort and fight. He didn't even try and present all day. If you want cheer that, good on you but doesn't make others pathetic. We all have a right to be disappointed and state it. Its not the DPRK FFS.

Jared Wade put him through all the necessary physical tests.

The lack of impact from our "guns' in JDG, Moore, Maynard, Crisp, Jaicos and Houston were.

Oh well, you can’t win them all. Disappointed we won’t be there for the biggest game of the year, but proud of the improvement from last year, when we didn’t even participate in the finals series. From ninth to a prelim isn’t to be sniffed at, but as always there is room for improvement going forward. We know where we need to go from here to take the next step to take our rightful space at the top of the tree next year.

I have the horrible feeling that was our final shot for some years, given our trade and draft options. We are still paying Grundy next season for instance and already traded our number 1 pick. Not good.

Long is not skilled enough against teams like Lions with sublime and skilled midfielders. Against such teams Long would be good depth but not key piece.

Steele outplayed Long tonight and he's a 5 gamer. Long just needed to tackle and tackle hard against star midfield, but he tried to be fancy and led to turn overs.

He is a free agent so we will get bugger all for him. Still kicked 36 goals despite injuries this year. I get you are disappointed but he was selected proppy & that shouldn’t have happened in hindsight. He has been a warrior for us & does not deserve the stick he is copping. De Goey probably earns twice as much & gave us nothing either.

And De Goey has copped plenty of stick too. The difference between them is age. De Goey has time on his side, though not a lot, and Mihochek's time is over. We won't be doing much for the next few years. Mihochek should be glad of the opportunity to get a game elsewhere rather than flail about in a forward line of geriatrics and undersized talls.

Full strength they're the best team, this weekend there missing a few of their best players.

No Neale has a cascading effect on their whole midfield and significantly reduces the threat their midfield poses

I agree, I think we will be down a few years before coming back. 3-4 years perhaps. Can’t see us competing with the likes of Brisbane Hawthorn etc especially with their youth, ours need a little time to develop
Can imagine us struggling to make finals next year, and then 2 or so years 8-12 on the ladder before rising again
We had to win it this years with the investments we made with certain players over the last 2 years

We have to hope that another preseason into all of: Parker, Allan, West, Steene, De Matteo, Steele will set all these players up for a blast at 2026 senior selection.

Have to hope likewise that another preseason into Ned Long will give him the basis for a breakout even better than this year.

Have to hope that we can pick up a gangbuster mid and another key tall foreward and defender in the preseason
