Weird one - we're driving through from Gippsland to Geelong on Saturday for school holidays.

Looking for safe/easy/accessible recommendations to park an SUV with a bike rack on the back to be able to get to the MCG and then on to Geelong afterwards.

Little Venice seemed to be a nice spot, no idea about practicalities.

If you registered for the ballot on Wednesday (and you needed to register for it then), if you get a ticket money will come out of your account this week to pay for it. It was on Tuesday for me.

Little Venice seemed to be a nice spot, no idea about practicalities.

Pretty close to Little Venice at the moment but unfortunately it's max a week there and I don't think I'll be forgiven for flying to Australia around Mum's birthday and then not stopping in and seeing her twice in a row

Plus, I've already booked the flights to include a stay in Brisbane on the return leg.

For those of us wanting to know ticket prices in the ballot- this was posted on the Geelong board today. Their allocating has already started. Fingers crossed and good luck everyone - I presume ours will start tonight/tomorrow morning?

Nervous first time ballot entrant here! Can anyone who was successful in 2023/2024 share some light on when it all goes down and in particular, which priority groups are likely to experience success? We are Priority 2 but have heard (hopefully true) rumours that people who were Priority 3 in previous years even received tickets. And yes - we absolutely chose restricted/standing if required.

They start charging tickets at about midday and go p1 then p2 etc.

P1 was done about 4pm from memory then p2 went past midnight (with some even on Monday I think).

I was p2 last two years and was 5.30 and 7.30 charges.

In 2023 all p3 memberships also got a ticket. In 2024 quite a few p2 missed out so no p3. It all depends how many registered. More members could be more registrations, but not sure how many people want to travel again.

Lions Facebook pages offer great entertainment. ‘Didn’t get the ballot email’ has rocketed up from #9 last year to #3 this year.

A watch point for me is whether they give p1 the best seats like the last 2 years or just guarantee a ticket like the pies did? Sounds like the club chooses.
