There is an article on fox website that is conclusive about Steward. He is in concussion protocols for the standard 12 days. That is the GF gone. The first GF miss from concussion. And Henry is not expected to miss.

I look back fondly on the era when the world called Geelong the ‘handbaggers’. While I abhor the sexist and demeaning (to women) nature of the description, it reflected the apparent mental weakness of the Cats at that time (women are soft and weak - I’m sure you get it).

If we play them next week, I’d love them to reclaim that reputation, if not the descriptor.

Hard to see the Lions reversing that performance of 2 weeks ago and even more so as Scott has enough smarts to employ the tag to try and take away their only avenue to victory which is the midfield.

I hate Scott but taking 2 Irish lads and using them as they do allows them to influence games more than they otherwise probably would as players new to the game.

For no other reason than I prefer Fagan, I'll go for the Lions.

Never underestimate Fagan. And this Lions team is special. Again, that's 3 GFs in a row and could easily have been premiers the last two. Pies needed heroics back in 2023 to in by 5 points.

Dangerfield will need to be fully healthy and fresh next week to help Cats.

Two best performances from Brisbane this season have been two games against us at the G.

I’ve not rated them highly and their percentage tells me why. They’ve won but not convincingly, in some games.

Geelong, I also have not rated like others. They weren’t challenged in the second half of the season, and lost three times to top 8 sides. The rest of their later games were against teams outside the 8.

Anyway Geelong have responded and convincingly now beaten Brisbane and then Hawthorn. I would expect they win comfortably next week.

I reckon Brisbane will pull a Sydney 2022. Played their grand final in the prelim against us.
