If it’s going to happen, would love Humphrey to be a part of a deal for Charlie. He is exactly the type of player we need across half-forward and stints in the midfield. Still in the infancy of his career too. Syd, Geel and definitely Pies don’t have the collateral to give us for Curnow. Sydney could do, but won’t ever put up the calibre of names we would want in return.

Just seems as the Suns are only team who have half a chance of pulling this off with us. If it is favourable for us, we should do it.

So you agree Nick Austin should have been sacked for mismanaging the cap but we still had no cap space and those players would not have come. Docherty is just deflecting from any aspect that he may have been apart of: playing culture, internals and the fact we have been proven as not good enough.
It's not Austin's job to manage the salaries of the players. It was the job of Lloyd to do that. Once it went passed the recruitment stage, it was all Lloyd.

Humphrey and Moyle for Curnow

Yep. Whatever trade we make for Charlie, it can’t be a one for one swap. Charlie is worth more than any single player we trade him for.

So we trade a 29 year old star with selective effort and knee issues for a 21 year old thought by plenty to be the next iteration of Dusty and demand more in a blind desire to win the trade.

Charlie forcing an exit evokes the need to ream a suitor, but I don’t think we need much, if any in the way of steak knives. Maybe a third rounder this year or next to assist with trades or points to help with bids at a pinch. The Suns need their draft capital to match bids. Letting go of a young gun may help keep the AFL from invoking a first round look out for academy and father son picks.

sadly it's only deductible if you buy food or coffee and take it back to your office for a meeting
That’s not true. I’ve been a bdm for 10 years and average 6 coffees / lunches a week externally with clients. Of course you don’t have to take it back to the office 😂. Restaurants across Melbourne would go broke overnight

One letter away from this being an awkward conversation.

They don't have good players?

Players also have to want us. Nobody of worth at a contending VIC club is gonna be on board to move across to Carlton in our current position - a fringe player looking for opportunity, sure, but not one of their top 5. Our best chance of getting "elite player(s)" back in a trade for Charlie is to look at interstate clubs with players who are from Victoria. Humphrey is perfect for us in that regard, Butters would be too if a three-club deal could be negotiated.

Humphrey rumour is great!

I’d be so happy if we got Bailey H, Walter and Flanders + 3rd pick next year. For Charlie and our first this year.

We get overs which we should get, and hopefully 2/3 get close to their ceilings.

It would be a trade both clubs would win with. Helps GC compete next year for a flag and get there academies this year.

We get 3 players in there early 20’s to help balance our list and there salaries shouldn’t hurt our cap. Mini reset, 2027 hopefully we start climbing the ladder as our players have had 2026 to learn to play together and we have Cody coming in
