JSOS will be the most difficult to cover. We have a lot of forward options, and pitto is good enough to carry the load, especially if HOK is played forward.

Not sure why the 12-13 games he’s available for harder to cover than the other 11+ he misses?

What about Liam Jones back for a year before Dean takes over.
I know his season wasn’t great this year but back with Weiters I’m sure he’d be better than what we have now. Especially with HOF out for the year.
Or has he burnt his bridges with Vossy ?

His speed is gone so he isn't an option at AFL level anymore unfortunately. Dogs were desperate for a key defender this year but quickly realised he's now a liability.

Out of date styles, what have you been watching. The best player in PF weekend was Dangerfield, a bull that can play under pressure in the midfield and forward line and deliver. Petracca is a similar type.

We probably can’t afford Petracca, but he would be a great addition if we could imo.

He's a bull in an extremely balanced, experienced and well disciplined team, one with a number of smart, 2-way runners with good foot skills.

We already have a big bull, and a coach whose Plan A is bulls and his Plan B is do Plan A better.
We need different, not more of the same. And Trac 2025 is not Trac 2021.

If we were to get Humphrey, I'd have zero interest in Flanders, and suspect he'd have next to none in us.

It's probably not far off "fair", though I think Melbourne probably come off best and we don't get quite enough for Charlie. Balance with picks/pick swaps as needed - future second from Melbourne maybe, to help with Cody.

If we could convince Walter to move, and GC to part with him, would prefer to just do Charlie for Humphrey and Walter - but I don't think they're giving up two very highly rated (and contracted) young players in addition to a best 22 player like Flanders this offseason. Maybe if Humphrey is on the move, they can convince Flanders to stick around though.

Backline feels like it'd have a strong defensive game as well as good drive and ball use. Midfield retains the necessary grunt and outside run but gains some class and creativity.
Forward line full of threats, maybe lacking a little defensive accountability but I think it's a trade-off worth considering.

Whilst I understand some things will still be happening the ability for them to spread is limited.

I was down from Brisbane last week and visited the Carlton shop at Princes Park. If we trade Charlie, they will need to close the store for at least a fortnight to sort out their merchandise.
