No, he's 18 already this year.Caton, isn't he in next year's NGAs - the 2026 crop, along with Kenh.

Or Greg Clark evenAt that point just compare sharp to clay hall![]()
If we got all that, I think we should all shut up and quietly enjoy the offseason. So today we find out what shops the AFL will let us go hunting for at Christmas with the support package.
I’m predicting
- 2 extra rookie Cat A spots
- 4 additional Cat B spots with ability to prelist 6 players in the next 2 years
- no F/S ability to prelist as the heat is on that topic
- at least 1 end R1 or after our R2 that needs to be traded for a player
- one additional pick and I’m expecting end R1 but hoping for end of non finalists picks in R1 (11 as it stands before dilution) OR and end R1 in 2026 that can be traded
I suspect there will be 18 unhappy clubs. 17 thinking we got too much and us believing it’s not enough.
Is is just Wish or Temu or can we get a better class of present?
Sullivan Robey capped off his amazing late rise into top 10 contention by kicking 4 goals for his team as they triumphed in the CTL Grand Final. Apparently playing with a cracked collarbone, and occasionally looking visibly in pain, he battled on manfully, throwing himself into contests with his usual zeal. It'll be fascinating to see just how high this year's bolter ends up going on draft night.
Would love it but don’t think we will get that much.So today we find out what shops the AFL will let us go hunting for at Christmas with the support package.

My prediction is we don't get any draft pick assistance, just the extra rookie spots and pre-listing of NGA prospects. So today we find out what shops the AFL will let us go hunting for at Christmas with the support package.

The benefit of having extra rookie spots is still useful because we don't have the space to list them all currently. We only have 7 spots. 4-5 in the draft including Charlie Banfield and 2 traded in players/free agents would exhaust our capacity unless we delist more players. My prediction is we don't get any draft pick assistance, just the extra rookie spots and pre-listing of NGA prospects.
The latter is of little value this year because our NGA talent won't be bid on early enough (or at all) to make it worth anything. Next year it might be of some value, so happy to take it.
That will also be palatable to the Vic-centric media as it protects their precious Vic teams while also giving them ammunition to keep piling on us. Perfect outcome for the AFL.
Not quite at your 1 + 2 picks, but if he blitzes the combine, which looks possible given what we've seen of his athletic profile, then who knows?Where do you have him ranked in the open pool?
A solid game from Greeves, not quite at the level of his match winning performance in the Prelim, but Eastern didn't need him to be at his best to take out the title. Ollie has been playing an increasing amount of forward late in the year and has looked excellent doing it, his aerial prowess again on show here and he demonstrated a bit of class with a lovely, dribbled goal from deep in the pocket. His decision making seemed a little slower than usual, resulting him nearly being run down on a few occasions.
"The latter" means the second of those statements, the one about pre-listing. You're addressing the former, which is the first statement about extra spots. The benefit of having extra rookie spots is still useful because we don't have the space to list them all currently. I appreciate the apprehension but Robey is looking more and more like a ‘can’t miss’ prospect.
His size and athleticism is going to make him a matchup nightmare both in the midfield and up forward. I’m also really impressed with his tackling - he takes down opponents with real ferocity.
If we can get the Port pick and grab him, Duursma and Sharp we’ll be laughing.
I don't think this will happen, if hypothetically one of our NGA players was a potential high pick, it wouldn't make sense to be allowed to just stick them on the rookie list before the National draft. Aren't there different contracts for players depending on which draft they are selected in? (e.g. 3 year contracts for first rounders now).Be able to prelist is still an advantage as we can put them straight on the rookie list. Without prelisting, whilst we’d probably be able to match a bid easily enough, the player would be added to the main list - uses up a list spot and makes the extra Cat B spots redundant
Evans, Walley and Williams have all been invited to the national combine so there’s interest in them from other clubs - bids might not come early but Evans and Williams would both attract bids in a shallow draft
pre-select local talent from the pool of players in their Academy between the Pre-Season and Rookie Drafts if those players nominated for but were not selected at the most recent National or Pre-Season Drafts.

Harper is in next years draft.I hope we get Charlie and Harper. They will be worth two and a half men.
Oh boy, you didn't get the joke at all.Harper is in next years draft.
