Needing a sanity check on this. Taking an 8 month old to the Grand Final. Crazy right?
Took our son who was 14 months last year. Was fine but my wife is not huge on footy so she didn’t mind ducking out now and then with him. Luckily we had seats right on aisle so getting in and out was easy.

FYI they will let you bring in a stroller if it fits under your seat.

Thought about this, but lugging it up to the top of level 4 might be tricky.

If I bring him, I'll just have to accept I'll need to duck out every so often.

We took a six week old to the 2016 prelim final. Other than the nappy leak and the result, it worked fine. She also came to plenty of games as an 8-12 month old as well.

The really key part is your judgement on how the kid handles noise and comfort. Ours was always fairly sedate back then, so we made the call to do it. I wouldn't have done it with her cousin in a million years.

I'm interested > does anyone know what the large block of grey area across all 4 levels is, would it be corporate/club and afl staff etc?

It’s the AFL section. Normally your map is right but in the Grand Final they take extra area to accommodate corporates etc. this week it looks like this as friend has a ticket in AFL in the not usual AFL area.

Q29 row N - in front of the scoreboard. Level 4 directly above the ground level seats where I was last year. Is it completely roofless there or does the screen have shading above it?
We were at the Ponsford end two years ago.
The last top row in front of the screen.
We had shade all day.
Can't remember if any roof though as we were on the shady side anyway ,lol.
I lent over and banged the black metal wall under the screen when Charlie kicked the goal to give us the lead.
Got roused on , apparently that's where the technicians are, oops.
Gees I hope I'm not surrounded by Geelong supporters I'm in Q7 .

Gutted; based off what was debited, thought we were level 2 only to wind up with bloody level 1 section 34 Ponsford end.

I hate nothing more than being level 1 and even worse behind the goals. Facking Ticketek.

Anyone know of corporate seats available; would happily pay thousands than sit in these 💩 seats. 😡
If you find some other seats McIvor would love to buy yours. Have ended up with standing room so on the hunt for some and we normally sit level 1 next to the cheersquad 🙂

I'll keep you in mind; haven't been able to come up with anything on the corporate front as yet, but currently trying to find another two that want to sit behind the goals near the cheersquad for anywhere on level 2 and pretty much most of level 4 which I'll consider.

Ticketek and to a lesser extent the AFL need to implement an escrow type situation where people can trade tickets in a safe manner. I mean what are great seats are to one person are trash for another - so why not implement a system where everyone can mostly get what they want.
Thanks McIvor 🙂
Agree 100% it's a jungle trying to sell or trade tickets had to go through it last year

I was standing room last year. Set section, not a set space.

I got there 20 mins after gates opened at 9:30 or something and the front row was taken in our bay already.

I settled in the second row. Befriended people around to hold spot when going to get a beer or a feed.

If you’re not too worried about being at the front of the section you can get there later but obviously you are further back. Still had a great day, but if I’m honest I went for seated only this year and fortunately got level 4 nosebleeds but happy to be going all the same
Thanks for the info. Rolled the dice and sacrificed my P1 to be with others in P2. Lucky to get standing room at 11:02pm last night. In hindsight after reading through this thread, that decision was almost catastrophic

This is perhaps a silly question but for those of us lucky enough to have secured a ticket in the ballot, can we expect to be seated with other Lions supporters?

I've got a single ticket up the back of Q9 (Shane Warne Stand, Tier 4) for what it's worth.

FYI for anyone not having been to the G or unaware. Very likely you’ll only be able to enter/exit the gate on your ticket. If you know anyone who is seated at the other end of the ground the only way of getting to them is either exiting the ground and walking around and catching up outside, or going to Level 4 MCC side and there is a concourse running above the MCC so you can get across to the other side. Can’t cross ends any other way cos of MCC one side and AFL members the other side.

Thats where we are as well Row S Not as bad as you may think. Seating is steep. Was there last year and 2003 and OK Not the best but OK

the last two grand finals ive been to have had the supporters in their own bays, although 2023 i was on the end of the row so sort of next to me was a collingwood bay

Bays seem to be roughly allocated to each team, but it's not a guarantee.

Anyone else in M1? Reckon we'll be in Cats territory if their cheersquad is at the Punt Rd end
