Buku could become a cult figure. Not sure we've ever had a male AFL player from South Sudan.
My research tells me we had an AFLW player from there - Akec Makur Chuot in 2018.
Super athletic type and hungry for footy. Good age, too.
Look forward to seeing him and Chesser bring some speed and excitement to the group.
What a disaster he’s become Certainly dodged a major bullet there.Would be hilarious if he got to is as Jack left.

Well said - and a so good to see someone acknowledge the effect that a so called star player has on many players around the Club - the utter disrespect shown by his management to the total Club begs a very hard line response - either towards him if his management cant get a deal on the table that truly compensates the CLub fairly OR from any CLub that wants him. This Charlie noise and carry on has got right up my nose. I know it shouldn’t. But it’s how he would have affected others that grates me.
When he signed his current long term and lucrative contract it would have meant some players took smaller contracts and others got no contracts at all and had their AFL careers ended. I feel for the people who sacrificed to keep him, worked to get his body right, lost their footy livelihoods.
He’s well within his rights to negotiate the best deal for himself but to turn around now and want out… strikes me as a level of selfishness that makes me pretty grumpy.
If his management cannot sufficiently compensate the club and yes, it should be overs because he has affected more than just himself with this decision, then GW is well within his rights to say that he’s found a club to send him to… the 2s.
I, for one, wouldn’t bat an eyelid.
Rant over.

Is or will be?Buku is a great pickup
Agree, nuffs enuff. This Charlie noise and carry on has got right up my nose. I know it shouldn’t. But it’s how he would have affected others that grates me.

Expect him to rotate with kemp back and forward for a bit of unpredictability
May even both play forward if we trade Charlie, pair them with Harry
Doubt he will be on McGovern's salary mind you.Supporters who get frustrated with McGovern are going to have an interesting time watching Buku
Ah knew there was - forgot Dom. Did he play a senior game for us in the end?Dom Akuei?
Who is suggesting we would ONLY get Humphrey in a Charlie trade?Steady on... Dusty was a speed and endurance freak long before he built himself into a brick shithouse and started resting forward.
He was up and about for Richmond in the clearances from day dot, and a goal a game mid from game 12 onwards. Humphrey is tough, and throws everything into his efforts on goal, but he is not Dusty.
There's some blokes in the top 15 of the draft who fit the bill better, and I'd rather picks for Curnow to make that happen instead of turning him into one player.
Who is suggesting we would ONLY get Humphrey in a Charlie trade?

Bullshit, Humphrey only just broke into their best 22 this season after being in and out of the side. Charlie is a two time coleman medalist and will be their franchise player in terms of merchandise etc. Humphrey and a first round pick would be the minimum I'd expect.Probably Gold Coast...
Would be an interesting negotiation.
If they were fobbing us Flanders then we'd undoubtedly be demanding a lot more. But if the player on the table is literally the perfect players from their list for our needs, then I could see us being a bit less hardline. We'd still want more than just Humphrey, but the "extra" might be late picks, or Rosas, or a favourable pick swap - rather than another high value asset.
Has played 31 AFL games over the last two seasons for the Dogs.Buku couldn't get a run in the doggies senior side so we take him![]()
Considering the big pay cut he took 2 years ago to drop down to $400-500k, I'm not sure how much lower he can go.Happy to keep McGovern on a lower contract, he never provided value for money previously, now he hopefully will.
Why?Buku is a great pickup
Cogs. Finally.
Well his coach is fairly different........Buku couldn't get a run in the doggies senior side so we take him![]()

Sorry I misunderstood. He has been on that for a couple if seasons now. Got it. My point was McGovern was initially on a big contract and he didn't provide value for money.Considering the big pay cut he took 2 years ago to drop down to $400-500k, I'm not sure how much lower he can go.
