2003 was awesome.12 votes in 4 games is ridiculous. Players used to win with a total of 17 votes back in the day.
My happiness levels would be elevated if Matthew Rowell of the AFL team Gold Coast SUNS was to score considerably higher in the AFL's umpire voted Brownlow medal award than Nicholas Daicos of the AFL team the Collingwood Magpies as I believe the latter has been seen to be almost tantamount to an AFL field umpire on occasion, in an anecdotal sense. What do you mean by this, Lord Nev?

IS THIS CLEAR ENOUGH FOR YOU Headless?!My happiness levels would be elevated if Matthew Rowell of the AFL team Gold Coast SUNS was to score considerably higher in the AFL's umpire voted Brownlow medal award than Nicholas Daicos of the AFL team the Collingwood Magpies as I believe the latter has been seen to be almost tantamount to an AFL field umpire on occasion, in an anecdotal sense.
Yeah I really rate Rowell and not surprised he has voted highly but there does seem to be a bit of a fix here for him so far.Just got three votes for a game where he had 16 disposals and gave away eight free kicks
I keep forgetting Flanders grew up in Fish Creek. Thought he went from Moe to Fishy back to Moe.Looking forward to seeing the Freak from Fish Creek in the red and blue next year.
Also got three votes for a 17 disposal game. He's the precise type that over-indexes in Brownlow votes (in and under, always directly in front of the umpires, attacks the ball hard etc).Just got three votes for a game where he had 16 disposals and gave away eight free kicks
It might be that the Fishy school wasn't part of the Foster Athletics Day until high school so I wasn't overexposed to him like I was the Duursmas.Think Humphrey is from Moe might be who you're mixing him up with.
Wasn't it revealed last year that the Umpires aren't allowed to look at the stats before putting their votes in? I know stats aren't everything but it does seem like an easy way for them to check their work after the game. Also got three votes for a 17 disposal game. Surprises me that Oliver never polled as well as expected, given he's in the Cripps/Priddis/Wines/Rowell/Tom Mitchell mould.
Honestly, would probably rather they did check. I doubt they're really focusing on who's having a good game or not when they're trying to officiate the game.Wasn't it revealed last year that the Umpires aren't allowed to look at the stats before putting their votes in? What's the best standard then? Surely not coaches votes as some (cough Goody) tend to pick their favorites.Honestly, would probably rather they did check. I doubt they're really focusing on who's having a good game or not when they're trying to officiate the game.
It's a massively flawed, meme of an award (especially now). Should probably be treated as such.
I thought you said you couldn't do horror haha? That shit gets wild.
