Well thank goodness for people like you who want to castigate people who spend probably 9+ months of the year completely, or if not, almost completely sober, measuring everything that goes into their bodies and training daily to be elite athletes, being poked and prodded and tested ad nauseum, playing arguably the toughest combative team sport on the planet, daring to let their hair down at the pre-eminent end of season awards night.

Hawks made 8th with a single player getting double figures and he didnt even get to 20 votes. No surprise.

Collingwood getting so few votes overall the big surprise.

Bulldogs did have a lot of big wins though. Flat tracking most of the year so he’d have polls most of his votes as BoGs

Why do they keep showing Nicky in the crowd sulking? His time will come, but most pundits agree he didn't deserve it this year. I'm surprised he even got more than 20 votes - but he does get the 30% vote Daicos bonus.

No guarantees, sides will put more time into him. As the Pies decline he might not get the ride he has. Not to say he isn't a great player, but it's a team game, not all him.

I don't know why people get so wound up against the Brownlow votes. The fact that it's more unpredictable than the other awards is what makes it special. Maybe it shouldn't revered as the most prestigious but it would be awful if it's changed or the umpires can start looking at the stats. Keep it pure.

If Australia had the responsibility of looking after awards in world football, Pele, Maradona and Messi would never have won best player in any year.

This award is a joke by any standard.
