Not that I don't think Rowell is a worthy winner of the brownlow but some of the games he got votes let alone 3 votes was ridiculous.

Thats the trouble, umpires are incompetent, coaches are biased and the media make clickbait.

Maybe a panel of 12 made up of past coaches and players, each group of 3 do a couple of games per round.

The 3 come to a consensus and you can't adjudicate your old clubs games.

Not a bad idea. Youd have to have them travel to games. Can't watch it on T.V as you miss too much.

When you all but eliminate half the players per game from receiving votes - most forwards and almost all defenders - it condenses the votes to midfielders, and as Scorpus said, a particular type of midfielder. That's why we're seeing all these high votes for a smaller share of players.

Not long ago, 20 votes would win it, and a variety of players would poll well.

Cornes voted on the rising star and only gave Curtin two votes, behind Ashcroft and Langford.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but combined with recent comments on Dawson and the Worrell debacle, he’s shown he is too biased for these gigs.
