You'd have to ask Cripps that question.
Furthermore, He got suspended for leaving the ground in 2022 and knocking the lions player out with a head high bump. The lions player missed 2 weeks.
They appealed the ruling and the rest is history. He got 6 votes in the last two rounds, one of those games was against the pies.

Neale was absolutely robbed in 2022. I think Nick tonight just copped it worse.

I’d forgive 1 umpire stinker where they give 3 votes to Rowell for a 20 possession game. But not getting 14 votes from 15,16,17 and 20 possession games.

Second year in a row chairman has apologised to Nick at the end. Shameful.

I hope losing last week and Nicks runner ups send a rocket under us into ‘26.
Ehh if anything it should light a fire under nick to take his performance to whole new level.

Definitely clueless but we shouldn’t be surprised with the level of umpiring this year
Elliott non free kick the cherry on top of their disgraceful year
Stevic has two prelim howlers now
Papley push and Elliott front on contact
It doesn't fit the definition of 'howler'...that suggests he made a mistake. There's no mistaking his agenda.

Would love to know which umpires gave those 11 votes to Matty Rowell. Particularly if there was one or two common denominators.

And Stevic's been dropped for the GF. As has the umpire responsible for Billy's non free kick.

The actual hate nick gets on the main board is incredible, just a bunch of biased oppo supporters that have no clue about the game or how good certain players are.

One mentioned that he doesn’t dislike nick but it’s the media narrative around him lol, how is what the media writes nicks fault. It’s just hate for the sake of it and that he plays for the pies.

I respect all the guns from the opposition clubs like butters Dawson Anderson Rowell Cameron Dangerfield etc, would be nice if oppo supporters just acknowledge that’s he’s a genuine gun
I wouldn't worry about it. Especially from the Cark-Ton supporters, They remind me of that kid who came last in the race and turned up to watch the finals only to heckle the guy who came second in the final.
They are a low intellect group who follow a club that is still stuck in the stone ages when flags were handed out to teams who could afford to pay the money. As the salaray cap came in and when it came time to win flags and make grand finals, This putrid team called Cark-Ton and their older barbaric supporters were reduced to telling stories of the old days to their junior savages around the open fireplace.

Rest easy my friend, Our club is relevant will be up there next year and many more to come. Their club has more passengers than a subcontinent train and even their players want out.

I just have a feeling Naicos won't win one because he's not an inside mid. Rowell somehow got 3 votes in games where he got 16 and 20 disposals, and l think it's because he's an inside mid, laying multiple tackles and extracting the footy. Which also is a complete joke and how bad the voting system is...

It's like Bont. He should have won a Brownlow by now.

Apparently, the Melbourne players just laughed incredulously when Jack Viney got 3 votes ahead of Nasiah in the Saints come from behind win.
If the Brownlow is to have any future credibility the AFL need to take the voting away from the umpires.
Geez, even AI would do a better job.

You're going to laugh at this. Round 7, top vote getter should have been Noble.

Round 9, Noble scores more than Rowell.

Round 10, Noble scores more than Rowell.

Do you think theres a few umpires watching the telecast tonight saying "Hang on, I thought that was John Noble..."

Like the crowd did when Cameron got 2 votes after kicking 11 goals...like seriously...🤪

Watch all the players dye their hair red next year.

It was aired on the broadcast. There has to be gif/meme for it.

Never been one to be a conspiracy theorist but something about this just doesn’t seem right?

Rowell had 4 games where he polled 11 votes without receiving a single coaches vote. Across those 4 games where he averaged 17 touches and only kicked 2 goals he polled 11 votes, which is more than these players did for the entire season?;

  • Will Ashcroft
  • Ed Richards (AA)
  • Harry Sheezel
  • Josh Dunkley
  • Touk Miller

I’m not against Rowell winning it, he’s been a top tier player all season, but for the sake of integrity surely we have to get an explanation around that. At this point I’d almost rather an “inside job” be the case as at least then we’d understand wtf is going on

Would love to know a percentage breakdown of votes received by opposition players in Collingwood wins and vice versa.

Would also like to know how other teams fare in comparison.

After a bit of digging I've found that out of the 16 field umpires for the games in question, there were 14 different ones. Either it was a joint effort to get a bet up or they're all completely incompetent.
