$41 to start, should've been amongst the faves after what he did in round 1, if anyones watched that game you would've seen some of the most brutal attack on the footy.

It's genuinely absurd that actually maintaining control of the ball the whole way through is considered an irrelevant factor when subjectively assessing the technique, degree of difficulty and aesthetic qualities of a particular mark.

Somehow people have confused the concept of a mark being held long enough to be paid on the field with its subjective merits when assessed against literally 1000s of fully-completed marks across a whole season.

Given there already been one exposed betting scandal from the umpires, it’s hard not to think they choose a winner and all pile on. Every year theres a player who gets 3 votes for just showing up. I’m sure Rowell had a good year, it just makes a mockery getting 3 votes on multiple occasions for average games.

I like that Rowell won. Tremendous player. As is Daicos. He will win at some stage.

My theory is umps do a lot of their votes at half time and 3qt, and at 3qt they wouldn't have even thought of Nas as the margin was so big. And then when they convened post match they would've just thought Nas had a great last qtr but didn't play a full game. Definitely the biggest non 3 I've ever seen.
