Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

Source for the Maley news is a former NBL peer/colleague from when I was involved in the league. That's why I put disclaimer on it (I had heard a few weeks ago he planned or hoped to re-sign).

I know it’s overs but that’s how the club is playing it and Austin has said players not picks and our TDK pick is up for grabs……
So Humphries plus Walter and a swap of firsts and Charlie gets to GC.
We still can use the resulting first for something if Dean can be gotten using Jacks pick.
Thoughts?

On the other hand, Acres being in the Cats locker rooms celebrating the win with their players and holding a Dangerfield badge, doesn't cut it at all. Absolutely pathetic

Hopefully Voss and Wright tore shreds off him and stamped his papers.
As Mrs Boucher once said about Bobby, could be applied to Acres, "He hasn't got them, social skills". I just don't think he has the capacity to be able to read the room.

Cripps saying last night how he’s great mates with Charlie and he’s got his back etc etc but surely, as captain, he has to be pissed off about all this nonsense.
I mean, it’s not contract negotiation time for Charles. Get mad and lay it down Crippa!

More of the Weitering and Walsh “no BS” & “clear out if you don’t want to be here” attitude and less of this type of answer from Cripps…

I want a ruthless playing group. (Think of Luke Hodge and the brutal standards he set when leader. Result? Multiple flags.)

Don’t get me started on seeing a jovial Acres in the Geelong room on Friday night with an SDK badge on. **** me.

It is a disgrace. Acres can try and get a game there and then realise his true value. He would play a lot of VFL.

Should be finding himself in the VFL Blues if he turns in the same type of football he dished up in 2025.

One of the worst seasons witnessed and should have been dropped earlier.

That’s all well and good but Weitering has been at Carlton for 10 years and Walsh for 7 years. That should have been the attitude years ago.

I've found it odd that he's just leaving Hawthorn to Geelong with seemingly no fanfare or investigation by media.

A former BnF winner, just entering his prime, in a position where depth is already an issue is leaving a prelim finals team and everyone has just shrugged their shoulders over it. I think it's quite a big move, Worpel may not be a consistent week on week A grader, but he has some x-factor abilities about him which will fit in with Geelong right now amazingly well.

The fact he's almost tip-toed out of Hawthorn seems weird to me.
I think it says more about how he’s rated internally at Hawthorn than anything else

It's disappointing that it took the shit hitting the fan and them looking down the barrel at a disappointing career for them to understand it.

We hear of stories like Joel Selwood who in year one pulled a veteran team into line.

It's good that it's happening now but on the other there's a genuine "too little too late" about it and we're suddenly a year into our next list build and they don't really know it yet.

I don't remember them shoving Franklin out the door and saying door riddance tbf. He was embraced whilst there and his personal decision was respected. You hear them talk about it now and they had no issue. They were grown up about it but had the stable group to handle it and get on with life without him - which is what led to multiple flags. On field is where the ruthlessness was but the togetherness was significant inside closed doors, which included Franklin up until he left, and even post there wasn't bad blood, everyone moved on.

I'm really interested in how long this 'No BS' mantra lasts when Walsh has some monster free-agency contracts thrown his way next year.
