Wonder if Ridley new found confidence in Essendon came in the form of “loyalty money” that they offer Merrett.

Well he's had a week to nominate the Western Bulldogs. On Gettable they said Budarick is either coming to us or the Western Bulldogs and there is still no indication on which way Starc will go.
Ridley met with us last week, and we then talked to Essendon. My guess is we couldn't get the deal done.Either it's a smoke screen for an end of trade period action, or it was never happening in the first place. Leaning toward the latter of those two. Could never get that trade done and match Annable this year.
I reckon for a split second he wasn't sure if Browny was going to or not. This year, and especially in the last month Jon Ralph has turned into the anti-Lions devil, he makes me physically sick to watch now and I put the TV on mute if he ever comes on. It's like he is overindulged with self importance now and thinks he can shape the game rather than report on it. I wish Browny and Lynch had snotted him on the weekend when he was going on an on about the Elliot/Starc decision. His arrogance is outstanding.
Pick 15 would be huge for us, allows us to better match a bid for Annable. Also on Trade Radio, Twomey said pick 15 from West Coast for Starcevich. Off to the West Coast board.
I'd rather keep Starce and use what we have to match Annable.Pick 15 would be huge for us, allows us to better match a bid for Annable.
Would also like to keep Starch but that does not look like happening. Likely Ah-Chee going also.I'd rather keep Starce and use what we have to match Annable.
Next year reportedly matching becomes harder (can only use 2 picks to match), but until the rules change I'm pretty sure we already have the points required in our own first plus the mixed bag of round-3 picks. I'm sure we can also convert out round-1 pick to a bunch more smaller picks out the back.
NorthsWhich team would be gullible enough to give us a future 1st rounder?

That ship sailed years ago.A lot depends on Merrett. They can stomach 2 walking out. I'd say they'll draw he line in the sand on that if for no other reason than to not look totally inept.
Their future first ... any team that wants to 100% guarantee making finals and playing deep into them that year!!!Which team would be gullible enough to give us a future 1st rounder?
Yeah that was my thinking too. If we were to receive pick 15 from the Eagles, I wonder if we’d trade it for a future first next year knowing the rules around academies will change. That way, we can secure Annable without having to outlay that pick, and use the future pick for any talent we identify next year (whether it be Academy, or otherwise). That said, I haven’t followed the nuances of the new rules that closely, so I might be looking at it wrong.I'd rather keep Starce and use what we have to match Annable.

Budarick is the same height as Zorko, 175cm so is not a Starce(188cm) replacement type he would be vying for the Answerth role.Yeah that was my thinking too. A shame to lose Starce if we do, not sure on Budarick given his knee issues. That said, with Ridley off the table, we will need someone in that small/medium defender role, so he might be the best around. Being a Queenslander, you’d think we’d be ahead of the Dogs.
Didn’t realise he was that short, so definitely an Answerth replacement.Budarick is the same height as Zorko, 175cm so is not a Starce(188cm) replacement type he would be vying for the Answerth role.
I still think Shadeau Brain could be a decent player for us, like his best footy.Didn’t realise he was that short, so definitely an Answerth replacement.
With Payne and Answerth out for half the year, Starce maybe gone, Coleman and Doedee having fitness issues and Zorko turning 36, we are going to have to bolster the backline this trade period.
Definitely, I think he’s shown promise and would benefit from a solid run in the seniors to lock down a spot.I still think Shadeau Brain could be a decent player for us, like his best footy.

For those like me >All he needs to do is be best 22 at that moment and follow the system., our team's real power is gestlaltian.
For those like me >
"Gestaltian" refers to anything relating to Gestalt theory or practice, a psychology school emphasizing that "the whole is other than the sum of its parts". The German word "Gestalt" translates to "form" or "whole", and a gestaltian approach focuses on unified patterns and configurations rather than individual components, whether in perception, experience, or even therapy, where the holistic experience of the "whole person" is central.
I like it Sauce.

Yup, already said that. I rate his kicking as better than Answerth’s. Not sure about his speed and agility.Budarick is the same height as Zorko, 175cm so is not a Starce(188cm) replacement type he would be vying for the Answerth role.
