Heard a bit of news that a certain Z. Butters has put a line thru the Bulldogs.
Even though their offer (money-length) was or is better than ours.
Take that as u will folks.
We might have manoeuvred ourselves into pole position.
GiddyUpCats!!

there still whole year to play out tho, as there no chance he leave this window.

Let us pray Port finish waaaayyyy down the ladder next year.

Catch 22 is Butters playing and playing well impacts his own RFA ability to move negatively.

What sounds logical :

Conway’s history and recent surgery mean he is 100 :1 to be a reliable prospect in the long term
George Stevens was at home in the seniors late in the year and is coming on well - mad to lose him
Clohesey has a bit of Atkins feel and ditto too early to lose him
All Bruin entries here are BS - no-one actually knows so let’s wait it out and trust the club to make the right call
Worpol is a good get regardless of anything else, as he is a free agent
Curnow is click-bait - Cats can’t trade big for an aged banged up Curnow, regardless of a cut in salary
Marshall makes total sense and we should get him if we can - that’s where the trade capital will go

Id think if we took players preference out for a moment and made it a club choice contracted players..

I would think Stengle and our Fr1 might still be light. Maybe cap relief helps that..maybe another player has to be added.

I know it might seem a heap but Id not be surprised if the clubs feels they are getting a hand small in Mellor.

But for Stengle to want to do it, reasoning ?
Edited: He wanna Betts

There was alot of talk that it was noticed that he spent alot of time at the Bulldogs table at the Brownlow which made people think that he was going there.

If both options were available in an open draft and teams could pick Curnow, or Stengle plus Geelong future first, everyone takes Curnow except the Dogs.

...
The club and the AFL have no control over how long this takes to be resolved, so until such time as it is, I can't see how either of those two parties have a legitimate position whereby the player could be sacked or deregistered. ...
I think the AFL must step in and give us temporary redress/relief. Like an extra rookie draft pick perhaps? We have some retirements happening 2025/2026

Help me understand why anyone would want to lose someone as important to us as Stengle, plus a F1 for a guy who's numbers are inferior to a young forward we have who has a lot more upside than Curnow moving forward. We have 2 years more of Jezza, in that time Neale will become a beast. Molier looking very likely. Watch replays of Curnow this year. He's a lazy downhill skier, doesn't chase, no second efforts, wouldn't know a 3rd effort if it bit him. We simply don't need Curnow unless he costs us bugger all.

Perhaps not playing for the coach

Regardless of whether we can trade Charlie Curnow into club or NOT bellpark: what is the status of him supposedly being banged-up (knee/shoulder?) Is there confirmation of sorts that verify this or is it possible Charlie just needs an offseason/preseason to get himself right. I'm not one to go on hearsay but rather verified facts because it does make a huge difference to anyone club that considers taking him on. Mind you, I'm sure any club wanting to take Charlie Curnow on would be doing their proper diligence and medical check-ups to verify it one one or the other.

I don't see how we get Curnow and it could work but I will say one thing for sure
People are DRASTICALLY off when they talk him down and about how good he actually is... Bloke is an absolute gun.

He is but its not a position of need for us.
