Competitions Dees board draft comp, ideas and interest

Hey all,

We are looking at running another draft comp once the off season hits and are looking for suggestions and interest.

One we could look into is a draft where you can only select a certain number of player from a decade. Something like a draft window from 80's-10's but maximum of 6 players from a decade so it it would be 6 6 5 5 to make up the 22. Another idea could be a maximum of two players from any club. Anyway, the thread is for your ideas not ours.

If you're keen to take part again let us know.

Scythe, Dancing Potato and I are keen to run this if there is enough interest.

Or were you looking more for strategic ideas on an outline for a competition you might have to give me a little while.

I do like the idea of drafting only from AFL era players who have achieved minimum of 5 matches suspension in their careers. Or scandal players, but you would need some clarity over what represents a scandal or it could go downhill very fast.

Actually that last one is guaranteed to go downhill within minutes so skip that idea.

It would need to be a career average of nice hair. Jack Viney had nice hair but then succumbed to the mullet of today. Overall though pretty nice hair.

So I’m picking Dom Tyson and Viney.

I was going to do an all-Australian “caught on camera” team once until I realised only the bay would embrace it and it too would go downhill very fast if it wasn’t for the fact it started at the bottom of the hill anyway.

You’d get some decent players in there though. Four or five anyway

Very good point. You absolutely have to base it on their career average output of hair styles.

As for ideas, we could do a draft draft. As in draft our favourite drafts, like the 2012 National Draft (Toump!!!), 2019 Mid Season Draft or the 2002 Rookie draft! Would be a hoot!
