Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.

Free Agency Period: Friday, October 3rd - Friday, October 10th
Trade Period: Monday, October 6th - Wednesday, October 15th
AFL Draft: Wednesday, November 19th - Thursday, November 20th

They have been defying gravity with some of the older players. Suspect a few may retire, or struggle more next year (Though LOL they have defied that for years).


Supposedly there is one player of theirs who we want. I wonder who that is?

At least their first pick will be one pick lower now if it is involved in the Marshall trade.

This game just proves how strong and deep midfield wins you the game..

Brisbane has:
Neal, Mcclugge, Ashcroft * 2, Dunkley
+ 4 midfielders playing at HF/HB: Zorko, Bailey, Raynor, Fletcher..

That’s 9 high caliber midfielders / hybrid midfielders.. We could hardly field 3-4 good and consistent mids. That’s why we need Flanders and McKenzie. Hope other young guns (Garcia, Boxshall, Philipou) and forgotten players (Dow, Carrol) step up next year as well.

How does it fade though? They get a draft pick higher than us this year, just as they did last year, and the year before that. 3x grand finals, 2x premierships, and 3x top ten picks in Ashcroft, Ashcroft, and Annables.

Watching the grand final pre-game entertainment.. I mean I liked hip pop music and Snoop dogg 20 years ago in my 20s. This is just a little sad, most of this crowd probably don’t even know the music.. Would have been much better if they got some Australia got talent contestants and make a show out of it. At least a little more local and relevant.

All things fade eventually. Agree that they look like they could be amazing for a long time, however it’s very hard to continue winning flags in the modern era. If we start seriously contending year after next, then it could be when Brisbane are fading unless they become the equal greatest team ever and win four in a row.

I think you may have been mistaken, as Max is overseas. I saw him this morning at a cafe in Gymuri in Armenia and he had the waiter lifting up the coffee cup for him to drink his cappuccinno. To be fair it was a large cup.

Are you actually in Armenia? That's on my wish list.

The AFL should stop Brisbane getting Academy access immediately.

They won’t of course. But how much of a tin pot competition is it when the Lions continue to get access to draft picks before most of the bottom clubs.
