You could most definitely argue that by this single action (as well as his poor performance) he cost his club the Premiership cup.

They were never tested and pressured for a whole game, over a 16 week period. It wasn’t exactly a great preparation for the big stage, or the kind of crucible or season a player needs to navigate to factor into GOAT discussions.
