Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

No offence intended, but AI based ‘analyses’ are generally unoriginal syntheses that offer limited insight.

3 of your target player profiles sound eerily like players we have just lost to FA or may lose to high profile trade requests.
The other two sound like an amalgam of Walsh/Cerra at their uninjured best and what we hope Smith will become.
Depends on how good the prompt and data profile is! its not unoriginal, its free of bias and statistically based.

It’s nothing more than a simulacrum of thought and contemplation, it is almost valueless.
Point to one element that is original…

Unfortunately there is no real polite way of saying it.

And your claim that it is free of bias while claiming that the data profile is critical betrays a lack of familiarity with basic epistemology.

It is a statistical comparison, much more valuable than your personal thoughts!

Giving Walsh the captaincy and having him leave after 1 year in the role would be a disaster
As long as all parties were upfront about the situation, I, personally, can't see too much issue with it. Just look at him as a caretaker captain, although I acknowledge choosing the one that is going to stay the journey would be better.

So anyone but Cripps is what you’re going with? Why??

I'd like him to focus on his own game, and let some younger players, aspiring to be leaders given the chance.

Love Cripps but I just reckon we take some weight off those massive shoulders.

Nitpicking here of course but the captain should be chosen every year by the club.

To be a captain and imply no one else is ready to justify holding your position, smells a bit.
The way that Cripps worded it, it was definitely the club's position, not his personal one.

The term "there's a belief" was supposed to be indicative of a club belief.

None of his answer smelt or had any selfish vibes.

Giving Walsh the captaincy hand having him recommit early in the season would be sensational.

Tell me I'm not alone in having scepticism towards re-signing Walsh to a 1.2+ million per year contract given the ongoing management of his spine.

That's what it's going to cost (at a minimum) to re-sign him early without him testing his agency.

Curnow + future 2nd for
Haywood, Florent 2025 first and 2026 first should be the deal imo.
When you go back and look at Ralphy's trade scenario, Hayward is a player he plucked from his clacker because we were supposedly chasing him a year or two back.

I agree though that their current and future 1sts need to be a part of any deal with the Swans.

From Sydney Board
Of course he wants Geelong. Family, friends, more relaxed lifestyle.

I fail to see how Geelong satisfy Carlton though. A player worth multiple 1sts and then some who is contracted.

If I’m a betting man, I see his future away from Carlton. Has wanted out for a long time. He certainly will need back up clubs if he is as hell bent as I believe he and his camp to be to walk from Carlton.
