I predicted Ashcroft would get the Norm Smith post game but in retrospect I reckon Charlie Cameron should've got it. Absolute match winner for them

Absolutely. The fact that he didn't poll a single vote is an indictment on the boofheads doing the voting. Ashcroft wasn't a shadow on his form last year, and in reality, only Andrews and Cameron were phenomenal when it mattered yesterday.

You only had to take one look at that injury when they finally showed the replay and Cameron's reaction, and you're thinking: 'F^%$ me, Jeremy Cameron just broke his arm'.

So they strap it up with a donut to 'protect' the break, then double the dose when he takes a tumble on it and is in agony again.

He's effectively playing with one arm from the moment it happened.

It's great he's that tough he can push through pain like that. Super impressive. But it does sweet f$#@ all for his team to have a one armed guy running round.

Scott was probably too busy trying to come up with a new 'mission accomplished' line to explain the incoming loss.... so he left him out there.

Unexplainable, unforgivable. Not to mention dumb.
There's gotta be repercussions from that incident . You cant be playing a guy with a broken arm who might also be concussed. Scott had an absolute nightmare

Adversity what? Every team at any level of sport faces some form of adversity. Can someone explain exactly what these morons are referring to?
  • Being born with an immensely punchable face
  • Having to endure a brother like Brad
  • Being overshadowed by superior coaches like Clarko & Fagan
  • Coaching a club with the most entitled supporterbase on Earth
  • Having to live in a backwater shithole for work
...no wonder he's always so grumpy.

To be fair, what were the medicos telling the coaches box?

I don't think Scott has the time during all this to be analysing how injured JC is.

As soon as the incident with Danger happened he would be thinking hmmm if Jezza isn't right then can we play him as a decoy or does he need to be subbed. But he's not wasting any time thinking about whether he's really concussed or not or has bruised / broken an arm, watching the replay 5 times. He's moved on and if the medical staff say Jezza seems fine, we don't think he needs to sit out 20 minutes for concussion protocols (which wouldn't have been even the slightest bit of an issue as most of that would have been during half time).

But whenever the decision was made to activate the sub it seems crazy that they didn't sub Jezza. Either someone knew Jezza wasn't right with the arm and had to tell Scott that Jezza had to be subbed. Or Scott did know and chose not to sub Jezza...

Or Jezza was unwilling to inform medicos and coach how serious the injury was.

Looks like Brisbane are now C. Scott’s kryptonite. Ironic really given that they brought him so much personal success…are now his maker once again.

Was lucky to head in for this one, and what an enjoyable day that was! Thought Geelong were actually pretty good right up till they weren't 🤣. Some of those slip ups in defence, starting with De Koning, were hilarious. Haven't seen that level of shitting the bed since Cameron Mooney in 08.

As for the goal celebration songs for Brisbane, reckon that was pretty unfair tbh. It def gave them a bit of energy and lift, and shouldn't have been allowed for a grand final. But with that said, what a shame it was to see.
Reckon it shouldn't be allowed at prelims either along with the ridiculously OTT signage and lights. We had to suffer whenever the cats got a goal, so ... tough t***ies I say

Add being born a Hawthorn supporter and now not being able to barrack for us - that would do bad things to your brain.

I don't get it...Geelong were the higher seeded team. Brisbane should have had no right to the lame singalongs either way. Did Geelong not use their songs too?

Lions by 5 goals
Charlie Cameron
Time for Brisbane to remove the smirk off this arrogant mob
I had my pre game prediction go close but I think if Cameron had kicked the two goals he missed (this was before the junk time goals that everyone else’s got in on) he would have got a look in with 6 majors.

However, On balance, you can’t deny the spread of players for the Norm Smith voting was fairly accurate, probably a little too concentrated on the winner, but deserving nonetheless.

Their key is obviously a great tough midfield but also their mids kick a lot of goals - yesterday was a prime example. Until we have multiple mids who can hit scoreboard - will be very hard to compete at that level
Their midfield kicks a lot of goals because their forwards aren’t kicking many at all.

Morris is talented but as he’s young struggles when he has to play as the main man and Gallop may as well not be out there.

Cameron, Rayner and Lohmann do something flashy every now and then but can’t be relied upon to consistently impact games. Cameron’s form has fallen off a cliff.

Bailey is the real threat out there. It’s there midfield that has to do all the work covering for their forward line.

I didn't realise that Scott actually subbed off Stanley INSTEAD of Cameron.

What a ****ing idiot.
To be fair, if I had a choice between a fully fit Rhys Stanley and a one armed Jeremy Cameron, I'd sub Stanley too.

As soon as you put load through that limb it would become obvious there is a problem. I cannot understand what happened. I had a few drinks but I recall vision showing his hand as swollen.

I agree.Question lies with the medicos: what did they know and were they acting in Camerons best interests? Or was Cameron overriding them , desperate to get back on the ground ? I thought the afl were sposed to have their own medicos ?
