Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

I honestly think Carlton should have Charlie's manager whoever the flog is investigated by the Afl and have his license taken away
I'm positive it's not the first time he has done it
Surely the afl should have some integrity in our already corrupt organization

For what exactly? He's doing exactly what Charlie wants him to do. Get him out of Carlton.

Miers is above O'Sullivan... easily.

Beautiful i50 delivery... exactly what we need!
Problem is sans curnow - there wont be much of a target to deliver to in the forward fifty:moustache:

Yes he is doing a great job, wanting to go to a club he has zero chance of getting to.
If he had half a brain he should have nominated two clubs, going to look a complete fool in a week's time and it is clear he cannot get to Geelong and he needs to nominate a 2nd club.

Charlie knows he's not getting to Geelong.

Jeeeeesus. Bloke missed almost the whole year with injury and managed to sneak back in for the final round, is contracted for another 12 months, of course he bloody hasn't signed yet - it's not an indication he wants out, it's an indication that he doesn't need to sign yet and is best to do so when he actually has a formline that his manager can use to ensure his next contract is maximised.

If Cripps reckons nobody else is "ready" yet, but Walsh or Weiters is "next", I'd say its got more to do with those two guys having interrupted/ordinary years respectively and needing to sort out personal form before taking on the added responsibility of the captaincy.
So to confirm you completely agree with me he shouldn’t be captain next year? A heap of hot air here to agree with someone.
I didn’t say I had expected him to extend yet, I said as he hasn’t, why would you give him the captaincy. Again, the reasons for why he hasn’t extended wasn’t me insinuating he wanted to leave. Was purely a statement of fact. Every chance he wants to build a form line, no doubt without the pressure of being captain.

The original post stated take it out of Cripps’ hands, my response was Walsh may not want it. I think Cripps should be captain next year, particularly in what could be a difficult year and one people suspect may see the firing of yet another coach

Charlie and his manager would have contingencies in place.. Geelong might be the preference, but they would have already considered the challenges of this.

Then why waste everybody's time.
Select a club that there is a chance of getting a deal done.
Geelong are always tough to deal with year on year, difference this year they are after players under contract.

I don’t think clubs/list managers know how ruthless GW is.Good luck.
Lol..

He's only been in the system as a Recruiter, List Manager, Head of Football and Football Operations Manager at three big Clubs where he has dealt with List Managers for over 20 years..

Im pretty sure they know how he operates..

Who's time are they wasting??
Trade week/s hasn't even started..

Edit: also, there's no reason why this might not be a multi club deal where he gets to the Cats, and other clubs are involved with picks/players moving all over the shop..

Because the best chance of getting a deal done is to have multiple clubs interested and having to do better than each other, with some FOMO factor.

How absolutely ****ed is this system when Charlie Curnow contracted for 4 more years can nominate Geelong and we’ll be nice enough after some manoeuvres on picks to send him there. We wonder why they stay at the top of the ladder.

I say no to any trade with Geelong .. sick to death of them cherry picking whoever they want
