I’ve just heard that Suns have cooled on the salary required.
I'm not surprised, they know Collingwood will be coming for Ben King or any of their other tall forwards, Melbourne clubs desperate for Humphrey plus add in 900k JUH..... Seems like they've bitten off a bit more than they could chew

Timeline of events seems to point towards Petracca choosing Adelaide.

The Gold Coast rhetoric is only being pushed by media Melbourne nuffies, on the back of being hopeful of fleecing the Suns of better players/picks.

Petracca flies into town with wife and manager. Leaves without manager, who could have stayed back to visit friends, but with a family of 1400 kids, I am sure she would have been keen to get back home. So, unless she ducked out of town last night, has stayed behind to work through a deal.

Then, Melbourne come out to say Christian has requested a trade and puffing their chests out.

I would suggest Christian has told Anna that Adelaide is the one, and to get the ball rolling with Melbourne. Melbourne are leaking the Suns interest to open up an auction.

These things are always orchestrated.

Even the AFL endorsed bottomless pit salary cap for Gold Coast has it's limits

- meets with Crows yesterday

- Demons release official statement this morning that he is exploring a trade
That definitely looks like it's going a certain way....

Melbourne look to be desperately shopping him to Gold Coast hoping they bite so they can fleece them, they'd know if Petracca picks us, they are not getting what they want unless they organise a 3 way deal.

Just look how Zorko on the weekend was able to take the game on with his long kicks and disposal efficiency. Neither Milera or Laird do that especially Laird with his sand wedge type kicks.
Milera has the ability to do this, he just doesn't do it.
That's a mindset (or possibly coaching directive) thing.

Laird I agree just isn't the one to do that, as I don't trust his kicking.
Hinge and to a lesser degree, Cumming might be able to do more of it, but i'd also like to see the likes of Ryan and Edwards given a chance at HB at AFL level.

That Zorko R50 in the GF is exactly what we need to try much more of. Not every R50, but at least a few per game.
Too often it's simply a long kick to 55-65m out, 10m out from the boundary line, hoping for a clunk or a stoppage reset. It's the run and kick to the open side, or corridor that we need to try more of, perhaps with some sort of contingency set up to hedge against a turnover (e.g specific roles for each player).

The timing is irrelevant. Petracca told Melbourne late last week that he wanted out and visited AFC after that. There's not necessarily any link between the end of Petracca's visit and Melbourne's announcement today.

MIlera should look at Zorko's finals series as a template for how he needs to play his position. WMJ is a senior player now, he has the skills, he just cant be a handoff player anymore, he needs to be aggressive off half back, make opposition teams uncomfortable.

So, you're comfortable with him gifting the first four goals to the oppo in a final?

You can't tell me that the timing isn't at least a little fishy?

Yes, but club needs to drive that. Don't want to? Ok, we will find someone else

I think it’s a combination of the new facilities, the positioning of our team, Neil Bullen, and Nicks’ man management. But for Trac he’d also be looking for life after footy and by all accounts he’s a bit of a foody - well Adelaide has a pretty special food/wine scene, so there’s all that too.
Is Callum Hanna still our # 1 ticket holder ?
Then there is you answer
