What's the point of giving out priority picks to clubs who have the same donkeys in charge?

All it will do is give them a completely new opportunity to **** it up in a whole new way.

At least they've give two things in their favour:

1) Master coach Andrew McQuarterPounder in charge.
2) A loyal captain who will stick with the team through thick and thin. Oh, hang on.

I don't think they have. I also think they are a reason why these handouts aren't needed.

Yes, they went out in straights sets which was pretty bad but they still finished on top in 2025.

2024 they finished 15th. So that shows how quickly you can turn it around. It seems to be more an off field thing then anything else. Picks mean nothing if the same idiots are in charge.

In addition, using this basket case of a club as an example.

Lathlain won the spoon in 2010. In 2011 they finished top 4. They got Jack Darling as a priority pick at 26 at the end of 2010 but he only kicked 24 goals in 2011 so wasn't the deciding factor.

The guy who really knows about this stuff is Freomaniac but he is currently on a holiday.

If you don't consider that a 'priority pick' (and it's crazy not to) then Adelaide, Geelong and GWS are the only clubs not to receive a priority pick directly

Why? If the priority pick doesn't exist then the club who traded for it doesn't benefit from it.

Take Hawthorn as an example - if Fremantle were a better run club, Hawthorn don't get Luke Hodge.

Hawthorn still benefit from the priority pick system, even if they have to trade to get the pick.

Pick 1 for the bottom team isn't a priority pick you cabbage.
Also, your argument about taking poorly run clubs to the cleaners doesn't hold any water - the Kelly trade, the Dangerfield trade, the Bulldogs trade are all similar examples of getting away with murder.
