Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

Over a few more dinners?

Few updates
Gold coast interest shifted from Blues/Curnow to Demons and Trak, seems easier to get a deal done at this stage and discussions progressing re Jamarra and GC.

(3rd trade option for curnow right now)
Curnow management team working hard on cats and target is Holmes (diff management team) - curnow still likely to land at swans.

Interestingly - based on draft picks secured and compo……. West coast Pick 2 and even their future first in play.

Door is also slightly ajar on Butters depending upon picks blues secure.

Expect Blues to have 3 future firsts by end of trade period.

That's ok. He said he'd play for less. Right, guys?
“My contract says I’m on a million a year for the next 4 years, so let’s say 750k/year for the remainder of my contract. How about we get Carlton to cough up 250k/year for 2 of them?.

How do we have the capacity to get Holmes and Butters as well as 3 future firsts?

(I hope it’s true and we do but still how)

Where did yazz state that?

He said Curnow's management team is working on including Holmes... highly unlikely to happen.

He said door slightly ajar for Butters depending on the picks we get... again unlikely to happen.

expectation: Blues end up with 3 F1 picks. The more likely outcome.

I’d say a mid tier player will be involved as well like a Florent or Haywood or someone. Wright wants more ready made depth.

If we don’t land Butters or Holmes then it’s really hard to see how 3 future picks makes us better for next year. Does this mean Voss is gone after next year or is it a 12 month extension scenario that also helps us land higher quality assistant coaches?

Voss will be judged surely on his merits rather than just a pure win/loss. Similar to this year I would imagine

Tbh I think Voss will be moved on in a sceanrio where he cant get improvement from the remaining players, especially if someone else is the preferred coaching candidate

Voss may not get all the pieces he wants to help him get us up the ladder in 2026 but I think others in the club have a longer term view and want to reset our age profile

Will be a good test of his coaching abaility

It's not about getting better for next year, it's about building a list capable of winning a premiership.

Butters , Holmes lol . None of this will happen.

Best we can hope for is some only ok first rounders from Swans and a B grade type like Haywood.

When has Austin smashed it in a deal let alone traded in a superstar ?

This is likely what we're aiming for, no one said it's a done deal.

That being said, I like that we're aiming big, in the Cats want Charlie, we'll take Max, if not, **** off.

Things can change. But my view is we now have some triangulation between Here Comes Juddy, Soapy, and Yazz.

Curnow likely gone. Most likely destination Sydney, unless Geelong can package a player or picks we would find more appealing.

The two firsts, plus Hayward, plus Datolli that Juddy speculated sounds the type of deal we would aim for.

Picks needed for Cody next year. But the whole trade period should leave us with salary cap options for upcoming seasons.

I'd take Max in a straight swap and run. No chance Cats will give him up, but we can dream.
