Good point.Trac played the whole year under Goodwin this year, and only requested a trade now with their new coach coming in.
With Goodwin gone, surely he would have stayed if he was the issue?

Can understand a few rookie spots earmarked for delisted FAs or bringing in mature agers from state leagues. But draft picks are nonsense.
I’m so lost here…No need to apologise, I bow my head before TheGoatBaron as well, and depending on how I feel, maybe even a curtsy.

They can split pick one or two, use future picks, or trade players if they want. They made their bed with poorly timed trading and putting a lot of eggs in one basket. When you come last and your second rounder is pushed to the 30’s with all the compensation they probably deserve one. It’s not much anyway just a pick that will end up 25 ish
He could end up in tje vfl at some point which is probably something we need anyway. Its not like we have depth there at timesRamps is a strange re-sign, not sure what the club is thinking. I love the man but I feel we need better alternatives down back.
Worst yet though is it seems we have no immediate valid replacement or were not able to obtain one.
To me it's more so that he's leaving because he wants a fresh start after going through a traumatic experience poor handling of it by the Dees, so it stands to reason that following his former coach might not be ideal.Where has the story come that Petracca and Goodwin don't get along?
Agree about the need but if we are successful in getting Trac we would have nothing to trade with and no-one except Curnow or JUH to go for. Devil's bargain as there would go our first pick as well. That Bowman pick just keeps biting (again no shade on the bloke himself) when we should be developing a tall.Same here but I can see the need for another KPF since Amartey has been injury prone & McDonald is returning from a long lay off. Buller is also leaving & Mclean had a poor year too. If we don't get Curnow then I hope we get someone serviceable. Ideally Buller stays but pies ffs.

So long story short, people are just making stuff up.To me it's more so that he's leaving because he wants a fresh start after going through a traumatic experience poor handling of it by the Dees, so it stands to reason that following his former coach might not be ideal.
It could be a complete non-factor though. Or even if it isn't, it's just one of many things he would be considering when weighing up potential destinations, and it's unlikely to be one of the more important ones.
Or staying on topic, the Eagles could suck it up and make sensible decisions.Or the AFL can stop making the first round farcical. The first round should be as close to 18 selections. Why should WC have to split pick 1 for rubbish teens picks when they should hold pick 19 in the second round not pick 30. That’s how compromised this draft has become.
Now hopefully the changes over the next year or two cleans the mess up its good for all clubs
Not personally, no. Just some casual speculation in the 2025 Draft & Trade Hypotheticals threadSo long story short, people are just making stuff up.

We did draft one that has developed well this year. He wants to go to CollingwoodEvery year it seems the same conundrum we end up (desperately) having to try and trade assets in because we fail to draft and develop KPD and KPF stocks.
Our "depth" is so poor that soon as Amartey gets injured(which is a given) we lose all semblance of structure.
We will be back to square one soon needing another Ruck

Lol, a club shouldn't have to make sensible decisions. Righto. They shouldn’t have to. You come last you get picks 1&19 period
So I think we are losing Buller and maybe Florent (tbc)As far as I can assess, now that we have retained Rampe and added Rosas we have a senior list of 36, if you count Lloyd and Ladhams. That leaves no room for draftees.
However we also need to upgrade Edwards to the senior list. Which means that we have minus one spots available for draftees. If we enlarge the senior list to 38 as we have the right to do, we have one spot available.
So if we want to bring in 2 draftees on the senior list and get, say, Petracca ,we either have to say goodbye to Lloyd and Ladhams or, alternatively, trade out 1 or two mystery players from the senior list.
Unfortunately this means that the Academy kids aren't going to get much of a look in.It also means, if Ladhams goes, that we will need to bring in another ruck. So one of those few draft picks or trades is going to be committed for a backup ruck.
This does not seem to be a very good set of circumstances.

He should be by far and away our main target.Yeah this was the player I was told to keep quiet about
Has been in the media, but in no way linked to the Swans, both the club and his management wanted to keep it quiet.
His not our main priority, more of an option if Curnow falls down (which links back to us being confident on landing him).
He should be by far and away our main target.
Tell your people to tell the swans people to have a 1 Trac mind !
